Being punk does not mean wearing a certain outfit or acting a certain way. It means to be yourself without caring what the others think! But remember being a punk is not always easy you will be judged by others but don't let that bother you.
Stand up for your cause! Punk is about being a rebel and standing up for what you want. This is not, for example, going up to a bank and stealing all of the money inside; (that is gangster) rather, it is standing up for your values. Support something you want to.
Be an individual. Stand out. Wear clothes that no others dare to wear. Stand up for what you believe in, even if the whole world is against you. Be bold, but don't lose touch of yourself.
Dress punk fashion. Vests with pins and badges are also totally punk. Like mentioned, leopard print and plaid are also punk. Purses and messenger bags are great for putting pins and badges on. Don't be afraid to wear what no one else is wearing.
Make your hair punk. You don't have to, but you can get mohawks or liberty spikes. Hair color also counts. Different colors such as red, green, blue, orange,purple or pink also stand out from just getting highlights.
Ignore any negative outlook towards your clothes, hair or being punk; those who judge you are just not aware of your individualism!

Try to care about the lifestyle otherwise, you will get labeled a posuer, wannabe or fake.
Don't hate the preps, goths, emos, schemos, chavs, or any other subculture in this world. You may not seem punk or be punk at all!
Don't ditch old friends in favor of your new punk friends.
Don't complain about everything, you will get labeled as 'emo'. Emo is not bad or anything but you don't want to be labeled something you are not.
You don't make yourself punk or prove to anyone whether you're "punk" or not. You are what you are and if that isn't punk.

Don't try to convince other punks that you are a punk. Just wait for them to accept it. Otherwise, you will look like a poser.
Do not dress like an "emo," especially if you are tired of punks being considered emos.
Don't think that anything with a skeleton on it is punk.
Don't act like a hypocrite; be true to yourself and others. Stick to what you like and don't; don't simply follow the crowd.
Don't feel like you HAVE to dye your hair. That's not something you HAVE to do. Of course, you may want to, which is fine, but don't dye your hair or shave your head if you're only doing it to be punk.
