How to Appreciate Horror Films
Many people love horror movies, others loath them. If you are one of those who just can't understand what the fuss is about, this article will help you appreciate the Horror genre.

- Research some classic horror movies such as a Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Evil Dead etc
- Research horror directors like Wes Craven, George A Romero etc
- Understand that the people who are addicted to horror movies often do so for the rush
- Rent or buy some classic horror movies
- Get some horror fans together for a horror movie marathon, afterwards discuss the movies (Which one was best, which one was worst, who is the best villain, etc.)
- Remember that there horror movies can fall into different categories like Japanese Horror, Zombie Movies, Slasher Films and such.
- If the movie is based on a book (Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein, The Ring) try to get and read the book.

- Try to understand the events in the story and see if they make any sense.
- Write a report about the movie and/or book then share it with the group.
- Try to write stories of your own topic and turn it into a home video horror film.
