How to Appreciate Luke Skywalker
Everybody knows who Luke Skywalker is. The hero of the legendary Star Wars saga. Despite being one the main characters of the saga, Luke is often under appreciated, overlooked and sometimes ridiculed. Now you can find out how to appreciate good 'ol wormie!
[edit] Steps
- Take note of Luke's major role in the saga. Many times Luke is often overshadowed by characters such as Han Solo and Boba Fett. His whiny screaming in the "I am your father scene" in the Empire Strikes Back doesn't help his Jedi Master rep. Remember that Luke:
- Destroyed the Death Star
- Took down an AT-AT single-handed
- Held his own against Darth Vader despite having little formal training
- Defeated Vader and survived a barrage of Force-Lightning
- Acknowledge Luke's role in the Expanded Universe. If you don't like, or haven't experienced any of the EU, you're missing out. Much of the awesome stuff Luke does (any character for that matter) is in the EU.
- Remember that Luke is a master of the Force Luke is the inheritor of the bloodline of the chosen one. You should at least appreciate his incredible Force-skill.
- Remind others to appreciate. Once you have realized how cool Luke is, you should remind others who have forgotten.
[edit] Tips
- If you don't have the time to read the EU, read the Wookieepedia article on Luke Skywalker. It has concise yet detailed information on Luke's many adventures outside the movies.
- To stimulate your appreciation, buy Luke Skywalker figures if you have the funds. Some good ones to think about are the Luke Unleashed figure and the farm boy Luke figure.
- If your friends are fellow star wars fans, make sure to remind them of Luke too.
[edit] Warnings
- Don't forget about other characters like Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca who are also often overlooked.
- Watch out for people who rant about Luke's "whining". He can whine if he wants to.
