How to Ask a Friend for a Ride Home
This how to is for kids in middle school who don't want to ride the bus and have a friend who lives in your neighborhood.
[edit] Steps
- Be nice to the friend who could take you home all day.
- When you see your friend at the end of the day, say something like, "Look! Its miss I don't have to ride the bus," or "You are so lucky. I hate the bus," and sigh subtly.
- If your friend asks, say, "Oh I don't know, it would be too much trouble for your mom," wait a second, then say, "But if it's okay..."
- Make sure it is okay with both of your parents. If one parent says no, claim you already missed the bus.
- Be very polite the whole ride so the parent doesn't regret driving you home.
- Thank your friend and his/her parent for the ride home while getting out of the car.
[edit] Tips
- Don't be pushy.
- Be subtle but sure.
- Smile at only the right times.
- Just ASK in a nice way!
[edit] Warnings
- If the friend says no, be polite and don't ask again for a week or so.
- If the parent is busy or has a lot of other kids to pick up don't ask because they will become stressed.
- If the parent or friend already looks stressed don't ask; it will lower the chances of them saying yes.
