Everybody knows that the Prom and other dances are big deals to all high school girls. Yet, it seems that sometimes guys are hesitant to ask for the fear of sounding stupid. Well, it is close to a fact that no girl in their right mind can turn down a guy asking in a cute way. With this article, you can hopefully snag a date!

White Board

First have a white board with you and go to her house. Make sure she does not know you are there. Call her and stand outside of her window. Have prom/homecoming/formal written on the white board and tell her to look outside her window.

The Cupcakes

Write a note that says "will you go to prom/homecoming with me?" and wrap it in aluminum foil.
Make a batch of cupcakes and stick the note in one before baking them (be sure you can remember which one has the note).
Pass the cupcakes out to everyone in class, but be sure to give her the one with the note.

The Bear

Buy a teddy bear or make one at Build-a-Bear.
Make a sign that says "Thanks for Bearing with me...will you go to prom/formal/homecoming/etc. with me?"
Somehow sneak it into her room when she isn't home.

The Goldfish

Buy some goldfish at your local pet store.
Make a sign that says "You're the only fish in the sea for me, please be my date to prom/formal/etc.?"
Have it delivered to one of her classes or leave it on her doorstep.

The Roses/Flowers

Buy a dozen roses or a dozen of her favorite flower.
Make a card that says "Prom/Homecoming/formal?").
Have your card and flowers delivered to her in class, or leave them on her doorstep.

The Group

Get 4 of your guy friends together and give each of them a shirt with a letter on it: one P, one R, one O, one M. Have them all wear masks as well. be at the end of the line with a dozen roses in hand wearing a different colored shirt.

Bananas

Get a gorilla suit
Get a bunch of bananas
Put a small child with an adorable voice in the gorilla suit
Have the child say, "I'm gonna go BANANAS!!!! If you don't go to prom with [insert your name]"
Have the child hold out a banana with YES? [] NO? [] written on it and a marker (or a banana-shaped pen if you want to go all the way) and have the child bring it back.

Get the gorilla suit.
You wear it.
Record a video of you saying "I go ape for you"/"I'm ape over you" or, get a bunch of bananas, toss them in the air and yell, "I'll go bananas *throw bananas here* if you don't go to prom/formal/etc with me."
Leave the CD/DVD/iPod video (if you have a spare one/spare money) in her locker and wait out of sight in the gorilla suit and walk out so she can unmask you, or leave it taped to her front door after school/then ring the bell and wait out of sight until she looks out the window and wave and unmask yourself, or if she's a good friend and the family knows you, ask them to hide you in the house.

For The White Board: Be sure sure that you have been to her house before and know where she lives. Make sure you have everything planned out and no one knows about it.
For The Bear: If you don't have a ton of money, don't go to Build-a-Bear, although nice, they are expensive. She will be just as happy with a giant bear from Jewel. Just don't tell her how much you spend, it's the thought that counts.
For The Roses/Flowers: If you aren't going to send roses, talk to some of her friends about her favorite kind and color of flowers. There's nothing worse than getting daisies when she loves daffodils. Also, a single rose is just as, if not more, romantic than a dozen.
For The Group: You're going to want to ask really good friends to do this. Most people won't do this without an incentive. Consider offering to help do the same thing when they need it.

The Bear is more suitable for asking a close friend than someone you barely know, just as The Roses/Flowers are more suitable for a girlfriend or someone you are interested in dating.
If you do The Goldfish, don't deliver dead fish! There is nothing more humiliating to you than her receiving dead fish as your asking her to a dance. And if you deliver them in school, make sure you clear it with your principal or dean, also embarrassing if you get a detention for having live animals in school.
Make sure she has goldfish/fish that don't fight with goldfish. It would suck if she got the cute little fish and then had to dump them in the lake! All she needs is a large tank and some fish food.
And above all: if she says yes... be happy! But if she says no for whatever reason, be understanding...maybe she already had a date, or just doesn't like dances. Whatever the case is, go and have a great time.
