How to Ask a Same Sex Person Out

Dating is a minefield, even more so if you're a gay or lesbian denizen. But no more; this is a (hopefully) foolproof guide to bagging the one, regardless of your sexual orientation!

[edit] Steps

  1. Understand that gay men and women make eye contact more often than straight men. They have a receptive way of holding their body. Straight people tend to be rigid and stiff.
  2. Try subtly flirting with someone of the same sex, and gauging their reaction. This is a good telltale sign. Watch out though; they could just be playful, messing around.
  3. Bring up the subject of homosexuality occasionally. Don't overdo it or risk blowing your cover.
  4. Listen closely to them - do they mention opposite sex lovers? If so, there's no point pursuing them. It's sadly not an exact science, but it gives some idea of their sexuality.

[edit] Tips

  • If all else fails, ask them, but in a sensitive manner. You may be surprised by their reaction.
