Get a new hairstyle that you choose or get it trimmed monthly or so. Colorings can be a nightmare if you do it wrong; if you want it done get it at a salon. One nice style is straight long hair with long layers with rounded ends. This style is so easy to do- best to leave it straight and down, but for a change, you can curl it with a curling iron.
For makeup: Try dotting concealer on under eye circles and blemishes, use clear mascara, apply a slick of pale pink lip-gloss and there you go! Au naturel!
Get used to having 6-8 glasses of water a day and fruits, veggies. This way you will feel good in your body and look cute.
Confidence in key! You are cute no matter how you look.
Have good hygiene (shower daily, take care of your oral hygiene, brush your hair etc.)
Be someone in the eyes of the teacher (in a good way) don't go overboard by being the teacher's pet or being this bad girl in their thoughts either.

Always have some breath mints with you.
Express how you feel, whether you hate or like something.
If you want, carry a brush with 2 hair ties and extra bobby pins in case your hair falls out. You can put it up or help a friend who's having a bad hair day.
Get your own thing everyone knows you for, such as being independent or confident, very few middle school students are.
Be playful and enjoy life.
Be faithful to yourself and others.

And don't squeal, you think screaming in a high pitch voice is attractive? No. But it is alright when something is really scary.
Don't pretend to be friends with people your not.

Don't be shallow and only date a guy for his looks, odds are you'll end up getting hurt.
