How to Be a Good Wide Receiver

To be the best wide receiver on your football team, you have to be fast and catch well. You must want to be sure you want to be a wide receiver. You have to practice to be as good as him. Practice running and catching drills.

  1. First off, you might wanna watch football games and look at wide recievers.
  2. Grow a little taller. If you want to grow taller, look here.
  3. Practice your catching. If you are not a good catcher, practice with the dudes. If you still can't get it, repeat this step.
  4. Never back down. You have to practice EVERY DAY. If you slack off, you will shrink in power and in skill.
  5. Learn what trick plays are, and know how to execute them. Trick plays are also known as "fakes".
  6. You can be many kinds of wide receivers. Learn them all.
    • Split end. A receiver on the line of scrimmage. Meets the rule requiring the seven players when someone snaps the ball.
    • Flanker. A receiver behind the line of scrimmage. The flanker helps avoid legal contact. The flanker is on the same side as a tight end. The flanker is lined up just like a split end.
    • Slot receiver. The slot receiver lines up between the split end/flanker and the linemen. With a flanker, it is on the line of scrimmage, with the split end, is off the line of scrimmage.
    • Slot back. Lines up in the offensive back field. Unimportant, used in flexbone.
