Have you ever wondered how all the scene kids are loved. Or how everyone wants to be them? This article is the ultimate guide to make you the MOST RAD SCENESTER ever.

[edit] Steps

  1. Revamp your wardrobe. If you werent even close to being scene, this might take a while. Do it gradually over a long period of time, or people will call you a poser, you don't want that. But one thing about the previous sentance..everyone says it but if your starting a new school in a new city or town...you do not have to worry about that! Start out simple. Buy a lot of graphic tees, skinny jeans, and ballet flats. Also,Hightop Converse or lowcuts will do to, try to get cool funky colours like grafetti or cool patterns, but solid colours will do to! like neon orange, bright green...or banana yellow. Wear those for about a month or so.
  2. Makeover your face. Try going simple at first. use light foundation, eyeliner, and mascara. Don't worry about the snobby scene kid 'rule' that you have to wear designer makeup and such. You use it up fast, why pay $24 for freaking eyeliner that'll last for a month? Just run to the drugstore and get tons of black eyeshadow and eyeliner. After you feel comfortable to move on, add some neon colors. Maybe, even try some glitter!
  3. Hair Time Now you are ready for your hair. Start out with a nice choppy layered look from the top to about just under your ears. Tease the choppy part of your hair and add LOADS of hairspray. Add some clips and/or ribbons or headbands and call it a day. The scene hair style is mostly big at the top and board straight at the bottom. Also. It's not true that you can't be scene with curly hair. If you're unwilling to straighten it, crimp it weith lots of gel, straighten the bangs and put a bow or clip in. This is a very cute and very scene look.
  4. Try saying words like:'The Sex', 'the shit', 'stellar', 'vogue', and basically any vintage slang words like 'boss', 'rad', 'wizard', and 'that's golden'.

[edit] Tips

  • Carry oversized totes. .
  • Keep your sidekick or cell phone out at all times. The more you have it out, the more friends it LOOKS like you have.
  • Get a myspace and add everyone. Except for stalkery pedophiles and gross people. Be smart about it.
  • Forget the "Myspace Bathroom Pose", get professional pics if you can afford it. If you can't, take them outside on a sunny day or make use of a tripod and the 10 second delay on your camera.
  • Get photoshop and photoshop your pics for Myspace. Do so with caution, though. If you look fake people will point it out and make fun of you.
  • Go to shows FREQUENTLY. Not just because that's where the "scene" is at, but because you love the music and the people. You meet some pretty amazing people at shows. Try to befriend all the local bands.
  • Have a talent, like fashion design, jewelry design, photography, modleing, hair styling, makeup artistry, something like that.
  • TYPICAL SCENE NAMES SCREAM POSER! Do somthing original. Not the 'HannahHORROR' thing. If you can't think of an original or cool scene name, go by your first name or a nickname.
  • Get Inspiration from Scene Queens such as Kiki Kannibal, Koti Rose, Audrey Kitching, and Zui Suicide. They all have myspace so take a look at their profiles and see what you can do to join in the trend but be different from them at the same time.
  • Do not think this will work after a few days or a month.... it takes time.
  • P.S! you will get called a poser! [ you'll only be called a poser if you're not being yourself, if you know you're not a true scene kid at heart, don't even try to act like one]But you will get critisism, but you shouldn't care, caring is uncool

[edit] Warnings

  • Don't pick a used name. Be unique. Or as unique as you can be, being scene.
