How to Be a Liverpool Fan
Want to be a Liverpool fan or just interested about the club? Read on and find out more.
[edit] Steps
- Learn the clubs history. If you do not know basic events such as how many times we've won the European Cup then you will be made fun of a lot.
- Learn the club songs. There are many, most of them are uploaded onto YouTube but a basic fan should atleast know 'You'll Never Walk Alone' and 'Fields of Anfield Road'.
- Try avoiding buying any merchandise at the moment. The clubs fans are boycotting them because there is a strike against the two owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet.
- Learn about the players and managers. If you do not know who people like Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard are, you are stupid.
- Learn about the events at Hillsborough and Heysel. These two events 'shook the Kop' strongly.
- Try not to support other teams. If it's your local team then fine, but don't try supporting other teams especially if they're a rival one such as Everton, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.
- Don't live anywhere near the city, or if you do make sure you never go the game cos " I can't get a ticket la"
- Make sure you always tell people that you're the best supporters in the world, even when you're robbing tickets off your own fans in Athens.
- Always stand up at matches..whilst insisting that everyone else should sit down because of the Hillsbrough disaster.
- Buy a huge red and white wooly scarf...for no other reason than to hold it up when singing You'll Never Walk Alone. Wear it even when the weather's scorching hot.
[edit] Tips
- Watch videos and read on the internet about the clubs history, this is obviously a good way to learn about the past.
[edit] Warnings
- You will be teased a lot, but keep your cool.
- You will be insulted by rival fans for events such as Hillsborough and Heysel but you must always keep your cool and NEVER stoop to their level by insulting a tragedy that has happened in their clubs past.
