How to Enjoy the Summer with a Broken Wrist As a Kid
You were looking forward to a nice summer playing out with your mates when you went and broke your wrist... You thought that all hope had been lost and that you would never be able to play again... Thankfully, there are some ways to enjoy yourself with a broken wrist:

- Join an art class. You can still paint/draw/sculpt with another hand! Art can be fun!
- Shop. Distract yourself by buying yourself that new shirt at the mall or a brand new CD from your favorite band.
- Sing. You don't need an arm to sing! Take voice lessons, join a musical,do something like that to get your voice moving!! You don't even need to sing well. Just sing in general. If you really don't think you can sing, just have a dance to some music in your bedroom - just be careful of that wrist!
- Go to the movies with friends. Gather up a bunch of pals and go see that blockbuster you've been waiting to see for months.
- Cook. Cookies, cakes, and other desserts are really fun to make and design. Spend an afternoon or two making some desserts then pass them out with your good hand!
- Watch television. This is a good thing to do when you just need a bit of a rest.
- Hang out with your mates. You don't have to be doing handstands to have fun with friends. Just sit down and chat. You might just find out something new about them!
- You can play video games if you have a cast on. But if the sharp edge by your thumb bothers you, you can use a metal fingernail file and shave it down.
- Your cast is pretty solid and protects your arm, learn to skateboard, if you can, just skate alot, just don't do any daring stuff like ollieing an 8 set while you only can ollie a 6, limit yourself to non-dangerous skateboarding.

- Make sure you take 2-3 hours a day to just rest! You can watch TV while resting and have snack time during this period of the day.
- Remember that you can still do most things - even with a broken wrist!
- Don't feel bad to use people. Pretend that your wrist is hurting. Ask people to do favors for you.
