How to Find a Mentor in wikiHow

wikiHow is a fascinating place...but it can be a tad intimidating. Especially if you are one of those 'jump into the fray' kind of people. Sometimes, finding a mentor is what a person needs to do to help them through the tough spots. If you are looking for a mentor in wikiHow and were unsure how to go about it, read this wiki.

[edit] Steps

  1. Request a wikiHow Mentor. A wikiHow mentor program is under development and accepting mentees. Go to the mentor program page and send a talk page message to one of the mentors and ask them to enlist you in the program.
  2. If enrolling in the mentorship program immediately doesn't appeal, you may be able to find a mentor by simply participating in wikiHow and getting to know other editors. Try any of the following.
    • Patrol recent changes or simply observe Recent Changes to learn from it.
    • Look at Collaboration Corner and see what projects are going on that you can get involved in. Usually the type of people that are involved with different types of projects are going to be a little more interested in providing some degree of one on one type of assistance.
    • Check out the Help Team. This is more of a single question/single situation resource, but they are there to help you.
