How to Finish Homework Quickly

Do you want to do something special on the weekend, but your folks insist on homework being done first? Many kids have a goal to simply relax. But here are a few tips to help you get that homework out of the way as quickly as possible so you can enjoy the rest of your time.

[edit] Steps

  1. Estimate the time it will take for each piece of homework. Organize the homework by the amount of time it will take to complete each assignment. Do the shortest assignments first.
  2. Start your homework on Friday afternoon as soon as you get home from school. Encourage yourself with thoughts of a free weekend. Start a bit of it, like, "At 5:30 I will start do my math homework and start the history essay, and finish around 7:30."
  3. Wake up at a reasonable time on Saturdays. Since this is one of the only days to wake up late, set your alarm clock to a good time, like 8 or 9 AM. After a good breakfast and perhaps a quick shower, start working.
  4. If you get any spare time, do the homework. You should be finished by around Saturday night.
  5. Save studying for a time after the homework is finished.. You can study on Sunday mornings, or any other time. The homework should come first, unless the tests count more.
  6. Reward yourself if you have successfully finished your homework. Party with friends, or go out to eat.

[edit] Tips

  • If you get stuck on a problem, ask friends or parents for help. Chances are, they can help out.
  • Catch up on homework at lunch or in study halls on Fridays. If you lack the materials, simply study from a textbook.
