How to Fire Chainshot from an Air Gun

This guide tells you how to fire a chain (like chain shot used in old cannons) with high velocity out of an Air Gun (BB Gun, Pellet Gun, definitely NOT an Airsoft Gun).

[edit] Steps

  1. Power the gun as little or as much as you want (since this is a string of projectiles instead of just one, full power usually makes the velocity average).
  2. Work the action.
  3. Get the Gun in a fire-ready state.
  4. Muzzle-load the beaded chain.
  5. Point at safe target.
  6. Fire.
  7. Watch what happens.

[edit] Tips

  • It is recommended a Pneumatic-Pump type air gun for this idea, because you can pump it as much as you want (but usually no more than 10 pumps is what a Pneumatic Air Gun can handle).
  • If your air gun can be used for small-game hunting or pest control of some kind, make sure not to use this method over traditional means, as that would be inhumane.

[edit] Warnings

  • As with using an air gun for its intended purpose, do NOT point your Air Gun at anything you don't intend to shoot.
  • If your air gun has a rifled barrel, it may be considered a firearm in some U.S. states.

[edit] Things You'll Need

  • One .177 caliber (or higher) Air Gun
  • One beaded chain (Mostly used for necklaces, "Dog Tags", etc.)
  • A safe target
