How to Fix a Chain Falling off the Chainring Without Stopping
When the chain comes off the front chain ring and falls next to the frame. In some cases this is due to the need for an adjustment to the front derailleur. More frequently it is due to the gear combination between the front and rear. This tends to happen when a rider is in the largest chain ring in the front and the largest cog in back and tries to shift to a smaller chain ring.

- Simply apply gentle pressure to the front derailleur shifter (as though you were shifting to a bigger ring) and at the same time pedal very slowly.

- If the chain is stuck so hard that it won't let the chainring rotate, then you will need to get off of the bike to fix it. Pushing harder at this point will just cause damage to the chain.
