How to Fix a Dead Pixel Using Gdargaud.net

Tapping on screens, buying expensive software, and hiring the Geek Squad might be good for some, but others want a free and electronic solution. You'll never have to leave the computer for this.

[edit] Steps

  1. Go to a dead pixels test site. Your best bet is http://www.gdargaud.net/Hack/DeadPixels.html . Drag their test across your screen and look very closely for dead pixels.
  2. When you find some, wipe the screen with a tissue to make sure it isn't dirt. Fortunately, most of the time, it is just a spec of dust.
  3. Go to a dead pixels fixing site. The best and easy one is killdeadpixel.com which has a little flashing static-like screen which you drag to each dead pixel and let it sit there for a minute of two. In this time, go get a drink, watch some tv, or find something to occupy 5 minutes.

[edit] Tips

  • Using the black screens don't work, some dead pixels are in fact black.
