How to Form Future Tense Verbs in French
How to use the future tense for regular verbs in French, please remember that many verbs are irregular.

- Take the infinitive of a verb:
- Regular -er verbs: take the infinitive (e.g jouer, manger) and add the ending you would use for the verb avoir in the present tense. examples: je jouerai, tu joueras, il/elle/on jouera, nous jouerons, vous jouerez, ils/elles/ons joueront.
- Regular -ir verbs: do the same as with -er verbs. examples: je finirai, tu finiras, il/elle/on finira, nous finirons, vous finirez, ils/elles/ons finiront.
- Regular -re verbs: take the infinitive and KNOCK OFF THE LAST -E. Then add the ending you would use in the verb avoir as previously discussed. examples: je prendrai, tu prendras, il/elle/on prendra, nous prendrons, vous prendrez, ils/elles/ons prendront.

- The following verbs are IRREGULAR. They still add avoir as the ending, but they have a different future stem (first part of the verb).

- faire - je ferai
- pouvoir - je pourrai
- recevoir - je recevrai
