How to Freeze Passionfruit

Passionfruit is a wonderful plant to have growing in your own yard but it can have a tendency to ripen all at once, leaving you with a glut. Enjoy the taste of passionfruit during the colder months following by freezing some of your harvest for desserts, baking and fruit salads.

[edit] Ingredients

  • Passionfruit (amount of choice)

[edit] Steps

  1. Cut each passionfruit in half.
  2. Remove the flesh from each half and empty into a bowl.
  3. Spoon the flesh into separate ice cube squares.
  4. Place the trays into the freeze and allow to freeze.
  5. Transfer the cubes. Once the passionfruit ice cubes are frozen, transfer them to a plastic bag for storage and return to the freezer.

[edit] Tips

  • This method allows for up to 6 months freezer storage.
  • Use the thawed passionfruit in just the same way as fresh passionfruit.
