So, you need a bit of cash to maybe pay off an outstanding debt, or take your loved one out to dinner? Of course, the secret is, there are no secrets. Hard work, perseverance, and patience are what's needed to make an honest buck. That being said, there might be a few things you could try ... but a fast buck won't be an easy one.
[edit] Steps
- Get an Instant Cash Advance, Payday Loan, or Internet Service Rebate. Almost every city will have a business where you can go to get Instant cash, in the amount of $100-$500, or even more. The fees are very reasonable, especially if you don't have good credit and only need a few hundred dollars, for a short time.
- Beg. Street beggars are some of the best paid unemployed people. You could be astounded at how much money you can make by "working" the passengers who've stopped their cars at the red light of a highly transited intersection.
- Bet. Highly risky, but sometimes it pays off. Just be wary of Internet betting services; hopefully you'll have a casino handy.
- Use eBay. Selling your used junk has never been easier. Remember: one man's trash is another man's treasure.
- Collect loose change and cash it in. A lot of loose change in the house can lead to big bucks. Look for a CoinStar or Commerce Bank (no charges)or a nice cashier, to change your coins into cash.
- Use your talents. If you can sing for your supper, do it. If you can do portraits, do it. If you're a good listener, set up a booth. Find your gift and use it.
[edit] Tips
- Cash Advance - Don't get caught in the trap of having several cash advances from multiple companies at the same time. Use them wisely and to your advantage. Pay off or close the account as soon as you don't need the money any more. You pay more the longer you keep the advance account open.
- If you do your research, you will find that most cash advances will cost you much less than one bank NSF or Overdraft fee. Let's say you go out to dinner and spend about $30. You use your debit/check card to pay and you don't have enough funds in your account, the bank will charge you an overdraft fee of $35 or more for the $30 dinner. The bank will also get their money as-soon-as your next deposit goes in. If you get direct deposit and you are paid 2 days later, the bank immediately takes the money from your account.
- You just paid the bank $35 to borrow $30 for 2 days. You could have gone to a Payday Loan store and received $100 for $30 or less; and, you usually have 14 days to pay it back.
- Note too that places that give instant cash is unregulated by the government, so that means if you might miss a payment, they can charge rates as high as 200%. This is how these places make money and you are the fool if you fall into their traps.
[edit] Warnings
- CoinStars are convenient, but they also take an 8% cut of your change that you worked so hard for. Cash in your change at a bank for free!
- Get rich schemes never work! Chain-letters, solicited e-mails (aka Spam Scams) and "special money-making" schemes are a waste of time, energy, and most importantly, money!
- Illegal operations only work as long as you don't get caught, and everyone gets caught, eventually. Your best bet is to keep it straight.
