So you want to be a Rodeo Queen! Before you consider it, remember, it will cost alot of money, work, and time.
[edit] Steps
- The way to Dress
- Think about setting a budget. It is very important to buy an outfit for different events.
- Speech
- A professional looking Western Dress is needed.
- Modeling
- A flashy Dress! Try a bright pink leather or blue green dress. These would look great! If you don't have the money you can just wear the same dress.
- Interview
- Dress What Fits You Best!
- Tomboy Girl: Wear a button shirt with startched, clean jeans.
- Classy Type Girl: Wear a western dress, or skirt and jacket. Just make sure your clean boots have a black sole.
- Horsemanship
- The most important thing about Rodeo Queening & the best part! If you are a good horseback rider, most competions will make you run a reining pattern, but after your done you want to stand out! Wear alot of sequins & fringe, so the judges will remember you. But some RQ pagents wont let you wear sequins, they usually require a white long sleve shirt and blue jeans. So you could wear a red scarf and or use a bright colored saddle pad, and smile big and look at the judges when you can!!
and remeber practice, practice, practice!
- Speech Basics
- Ok In the RQ pagent world you don't start like an SA of the topic. Example:
- Have you ever had a friend like a horse? You can talk to them all day and it seems like they want you to tell them more!
- Which one caught you're attention? When your doing a speech, act like your talking to everyone, and stay on the topic.
- It's a good idea to practice your speech alot and in front of diffrent people also practice your hand moving, dont be afraid to use the stage, and another trick if you get scared look at the top of peoples heads "they think you're making eye contact but your not!"
[edit] Tips
- Boots/Hat/Jeans must match.
- Make sure Your soles are painted black
- Your Boots should match the top of your dress.
- Try to stand out!
