How to Get Shocking Pics out of Your Mind

Rotten.com and BrooklynBizarro.com are hard to get out of your mind, as are horror movies. Follow these simple steps; they really work!

  1. Stop looking at whatever picture is bothering you.
  2. Look at or listen to something that is artful, beautiful, harmonic, vivid (in a good way), rich, or joyful. For example, you might watch a TV show, look at other pictures, listen to R&B or other joyful music, or think of such things as rainbows or flowers.
  3. Turn off your TV and computer to avoid the temptation of looking at shocking materials.

  • If you want to watch TV, it would be better to put it on "Music Choice" (or other music channel). Good channels include Soundscapes, Blues, Bluegrass, R&B, Classical, and Gospel.
  • If you want to go on your computer, visit a site that is full of art and other harmonious things.
  • Make up a picture to retreat to, such as zebras in front a fireplace or bananas at the top of a mooountain-- very effective.

  • Do not look at shocking sites for too long or you may have nightmares.
  • Avoid something that will make you think of that specific picture.
