These simple steps will help your closet and other areas stay clean, organized, and clutter free!

[edit] Steps

  1. Remove all articles of clothing and objects from your closet. (Books, boxed, etc) The closet should be an empty room.
  2. Decide how to categorize your clothes. You have many different options. Pick what is most functional for you. Categorize by color, informal, formals, pants, shirts, work, etc. The possibilities are endless.
  3. Add your clothing to the closet by category you chose
  4. Items that can go in different spaces, put them there! ( Most of the time you just throw them in your closet to save time. Put them were they need to go!)
  5. For the items left, categorize them the same way you did your clothes. Find what suits you best. ( School, Work, Other, etc.)
  6. The last tip is the most important! Keep clothing and items were they belong. Take the extra 10 seconds to put the shirt on a hanger or put the book in the school or work section of your closet.

[edit] Tips

  • Having extra hangers for clothing makes it easier to not throw them in the floor.
  • A clothes hamper or basket will allow an area for dirty laundry
  • Bins, baskets, or just boxes help will maintain organization in your closet
  • Take the extra time to put items were you want them to be. You have taken the time to plan out where things should be.
  • While you have everything out of your closet, go ahead and vacuum or clean floor.

[edit] Warnings

  • Watch out for insects or small animals that might be living in your closet.
