How to Get the Most Exercise out of the Wii

The Wii can already be better exercise than just sitting on the couch and playing regular video games, but you can spend even more calories playing it.

[edit] Steps

  1. Play standing up. The Wii was meant to be played standing up, but you can sometimes get around that and just play sitting. Don't.
  2. Do all of your movements full-out. For example, instead of just doing the minimum when playing Tennis in Wii Sports, play like you're actually swinging the Wii Remote.
  3. Jump up and down or jog in place. If you are playing a First Person Shooter like Call of Duty 3, run in place whenever you are moving your character. Lean to the side whenever you are going behind cover.
  4. Play until you think you have really had enough, or if you're up for a challenge, time yourself for two hours a day while you actually work out, and you will get stronger and, more than likely, lighter.

[edit] Tips

  • Try Wii Fit as it is designed for exercising, but also provides good fun.

[edit] Warnings

  • Never play in cluttered spaces.
  • Always use the wrist strap in games that require arm movement.
  • Even though it's just a game, real injuries result. Warm-up before playing, and take breaks to avoid straining parts of your body.
  • Two hours should be the limit of your playing, because even though you are working out, you are still hypnotuzed by the screen, and yet it still makes you dumber.
