How to Get the Most out of the Wii
So, you just got yourself a brand new Wii. Maybe you've already had one for a while now. Either way, this article will help you get the most out of the Nintendo Wii!
[edit] Steps
- Get the Essentials. Buy three more remotes and three more nunchucks so that you have four remotes and nunchucks all together. Now you can play hours of multiplayer games with your friends, without having to take turns!
- Gather your friends. The Wii isn't as fun when there isn't anyone to play with. Invite your friends over! Bring refreshments if you want. You might also want to have a soft cloth handy for wiping off any dust on the TV screen. It's annoying trying to see through a thick layer of dust while playing!
- Connect to the internet. The Wii isn't as fun as it could be if you aren't connected to the internet. Once you're connected, you can use all of the channels, such as the Shop Channel, the Photo Channel, the Check Mii Out Channel, and the Nintendo Channel! Be sure to buy a lot of Virtual Console games! These are old games from older consoles that you can buy from there and play on your Wii! Also, get an SD Card to import all of your photos onto the Photo Channel! It isn't necessary, but makes it more fun.
- Be Safe. Always wear the wrist strap to prevent injuries! Use the Wii Jacket, too! They come with all new consoles, but if yours didn't come with one you can order as many as you want online at Nintendo.com! Keep your distance from other people and furniture. Also, send in your Wii Remotes at Nintendo.com to get your wrist straps reinforced! Take breaks every so often, too!
- Get games. Make your game library nice and big! Here are some suggested titles. The ones marked with an asterisk (*) are highly recommended.
- Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (Action/Adventure)*
- Super Mario Galaxy (Platformer)*
- Super Paper Mario (Platformer)
- Mario Kart Wii (Racing)*
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Fighting)*
- Rock Band 1 and 2(Music)*
[edit] Tips
- Play on small televisions to prevent seizures.
- Don't play too close to the television to avoid breaking it!
- Play in a well-lit area. Don't play in the dark!
[edit] Warnings
- Don't go crazy with the Wii Remote! Many wave wildly everywhere, when a quick flick will suffice.
- If you are prone to having seizures, be sure to contact your doctor before playing video games.
