How to Have a Midnight Feast

Having a midnight feast with your friends at a sleepover or even on your own can be very fun. Here's a step by step of how to make it.

[edit] Steps

  1. The first step is to have a plan. Ask yourself, "What time do my parents/roommates usually go to bed?" If the answer is midnight (or just before), don't even bother! If the time is well before midnight, wait until you hear their door close and their bed squeak or whatever, then wait another 20-30 minutes for them to fall asleep. Another option is to fall asleep and wake up later in the night when you know everyone will be sleeping.
  2. If you are in either a bunk bed or a normal bed and are certain your parents/roommates are soundly sleeping, as soon as you hear a gust of wind or another equally disguising noise, climb quietly and slowly out of your bed.
  3. Creep cautiously down the stairs and head for the kitchen pantry or refrigerator. Make sure to avoid squeaky boards, steps, etc. When you have reached this destination, quickly gather the food you crave.
  4. Silently sneak back to your room with your contraband cuisine.
  5. Enjoy your Midnight Feast!

[edit] Tips

  • Try not to have all the food kept in the fridge as you will make a lot of noise opening and closing it.
  • Tiptoe, as you don't want to get caught just outside your room!
  • A good idea would be to grease or oil the day before any hinges that could give you away. Make sure you have a reason for doing so, otherwise (if your parents/roommates are paranoid) you might arouse suspicion. ("Why are you greasing those cupboard hinges?" "I dunno, I just felt like it." "Sure you do...")

[edit] Warnings

  • Don't stay up too late; you will feel shattered the next day.
  • Don't eat too much! A full stomach can be hard to fall asleep on, and almost invariably you'll sleep badly or have very weird dreams afterwards.
  • Don't do this all the time. It will make you unhealthy and gain weight if you do. Save it for special occasions :)
