How to Look Older (for Young Teenagers)
Are you 11, 12, 13, or 14? Do you ever want to seem just a tad bit older, like 16 or 17? Then this is the article for you.
[edit] Steps
- Don't walk around wearing T-shirts that are from charity event such as the red cross or a shirt from a class field trip.
- Be different. Jeans are cute, right? Boot-cut, skinny, cropped, high waisted, flared. The options are endless. Except when you always wear jeans you start to look kind of like you don't want to stand out.
- Don't always wear sneakers or flip flops. That's kind of boring.
- Have different types of purses. Have them so that they go with your clothes. Such as a brown, leather purse that goes nicely with that adorable dress. Don't wear the same purse day after day. Also it doesn't matter where you got it. From Prada to K-mart, a purse is a purse.
- In your purse, have your cellphone (you need a cellphone to seem older), a tube of lipgloss, a stick of lipstick, a wallet with at least five bucks in it (or a a cute coinpurse), a mini hairbrush and finally, a compact mirror.
- Make sure you read a good teen book series!
[edit] Tips
- When you go visit grandma on Thanksgiving and all your relatives are there wear your nicest purse, an A&F, AE, Aeropostale, Abercrombie, or Hollister shirt. A blouse will also do it if it looks mature. Then put on a denim mini or a flowy knee skirt. Also, do your nails ahead of time. Wear your nicest ballet flats or heals. *Whatever you do, do not match with an older or younger sibling! That brings the 'how cute' jokes out that makes you look about three years old.
- Smile a lot and listen attentively.
- Laugh when adults laugh.
