Come up with a stupid enough reason to make him mad at you, but not to make you mad at yourself. For example, "you don't feel a spark when he kisses you" that will blow his mind. But when you do that, tell a friend to tell him so you don't have to do it.
Cause a big argument over it like if he calls you OR you call him (make sure he knows what you said about him) say it was a big joke and you didn't want him to over react to the situation. When you do say that, say whatever and hang up. (You could do this in person too, just tell him you have to be somewhere and you got to run.)
Afterwards you guys talk again and he tells you that he loves you (if he already has)and if he asks you if you love him just tell him that you "did", key word "did". This will leave a, "she doesn't love me/I don't know what shes thinking" kind of thought, and that's where the "I hate you" argument begins. although you could make it to where it doesn't have to be so "i hate you" kind of thing it could be "don't talk to me".but in my case it ended up a kinda "i hate you" thing. just make sure you don't break up with him unless he doesn't get the point. which he most likely will.after that he'll break up with you.(hopefully)

be aware that your messing with peoples heart and you might still have feelings for this person.
