How to Make Simple No Bake Banana Lamingtons

These are easy and healthy snacks that play on the taste of lamingtons without having to go to the trouble of baking actual lamingtons. You'll find less calories in this version too!

[edit] Ingredients

  • Bananas
  • 1 bar of chocolate, quality dark or milk as preferred
  • Desiccated coconut (shredded coconut)

[edit] Steps

  1. Pour water into a saucepan and put on high heat.
  2. Put chocolate into bowl and place over saucepan. This creates a double boiler effect.
  3. Remove from heat. Once the heat melts the chocolate, take the bowl off the saucepan.
  4. Put the desiccated coconut into a separate bowl.
  5. Take the banana and dip into the melted chocolate.
  6. Roll the banana in the desiccated coconut.
  7. Put a stick inside one end of the banana.
  8. Put the banana onto a plate.
  9. Repeat with all other bananas.
  10. Put the plate with bananas into the fridge to set.
  11. Wait until the bananas are cold and hard. Serve to delighted children and the young-at-heart.

[edit] Tips

  • Don't let the chocolate touch the water in the saucepan or it will spoil.
  • Buy the bananas a few days in advance; they taste better ripened for this recipe.

[edit] Warnings

  • Handle hot items responsibly.
