How to Make Banana and Coconut Toast

Often the simplest treats are the best; on a cold and wintry afternoon, bring the tropics in to warm you up with this deliciously topped toast. This is a very easy snack and it is also healthy.

[edit] Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana per piece of toast
  • Buttered, crunchy toast
  • Shredded or desiccated coconut

[edit] Steps

  1. Cook the toast and butter it.
  2. Mash the banana.
  3. Spread the mashed banana across the buttered toast.
  4. Sprinkle the shredded or desiccated coconut over the toast. Your quick snack is ready.

[edit] Tips

  • Leave the butter off if preferred.
  • This is an excellent method for using up over-ripened bananas. Their texture is already mushy and the coconut takes the edge off the tartness, while the butter makes it into a tasty consistency.
  • Try different types of banana to vary the taste; bananas differ in flavour depending where they originate from.

[edit] Things You'll Need

  • Toaster
  • Fork and bowl for mashing
