How to Make Belgian Endive With Ham and Cheese
Belgian endive is a leaf vegetable which tastes a little bitter. But in combination with other food you can make a tasty dish. Below you can find the recipe for 2 people.

- 4 endives
- 4 slices ham
- A bag of Parmesan cheese
- Flour
- Butter
- Salt
- Pepper
- Nutmeg
- Water

- Prepare the vegetables. Hole out the bottom from all the endives. Then wash them. Make a cross at the bottom so that the endives are going to be better cooked.
- Preheat the oven.
- Boil the endives in a pan with the water.Add a pinch of salt.Leave them to cook for about 20 minutes. Check them regularly, to make sure that they are not overcooked.Get them out of the water and allow them to leak out.
- Prepare the ovendish.Butter in the ovendish in. Make sure that the whole dish is covered with the butter.
- Cut the skin off the ham.Roll in the endive, be careful that the roll is nice and tight. Do this for all the endives.
- Make a roux.Add the Parmesan cheese to the sauce. Spice the sauce with the salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
- Cover the bottom from the ovendish with endives. Pour the sauce on the endives. Sprinkle the rest from the Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
- Put the dish in the ovenSet the oven on 200 degrees Celcius under a hot grill and let the Parmesan become gold brown.
