How to Make Bell Bottoms
Remember the 70s? Me neither. But that doesn't mean they didn't have good pants. Like bell bottoms. Here's how to make some of your own. Sewing is required, in case you were wondering.
[edit] Steps
- Make your own jeans, modifying the pattern for a wider leg, or dig up/buy a pair of jeans that fit well but don't have a flared leg.
- Cut an existing pair of jeans to make a wider leg. To achieve the dramatic bell-bottom look, you may want to insert gussets on both the outside and inside seams of the pants.
This is actually a better link with pictures & more steps to be able to do this:

[edit] Warnings
- Denim is the hardest material to work with so be prepared for a bit of a struggle sewing it.
- Be careful.
