How to Make Bottle Rockets
Have you ever wondered how to make your own bottle rockets? This article will show you how. Make sure to read all of it first so you can understand what to do.
[edit] Steps
- Gather the materials. The total cost should range from $15 to $25.
- Take your cardboard tub, and place a paper plug into one end.
- Measure off about six or seven inches of fuse and cut it off.
- Take the cut fuse and fold it in one-inch segments from end to end.
- Flatten the fuse with the pliers so that it can fit into the tube.
- Leave enough fuse trailing so you can light it and get away in time. One to two centimeters is a good length.
- Take another paper plug. Poke a hole in it big enough so the fuse will fit snugly through.
- Poke the fuse through the paper plug, and push the plug tightly into the open end of the tube. You have completed the rocket, itself.
- Take the bamboo skewers. With the scissors or knife, cut off the pointed end.
- Put the flat end of the stick in the middle. Cut it down the middle to make equal size portions.
- Stick and tape the rockets together. Do this by cutting two pieces of tape about one-and-a-half inches long. Put it at each end of where the rocket is and tape the stick on the rocket. As an option you can use glue.
- You're ready to launch. Put it in a bottle or tube, light it, and sit back and watch!
[edit] Warnings
- Don't aim your bottle rocket at anyone or anything!
- Use caution when constructing your bottle rocket.
- Fireworks maybe illegal in your State. A fine and/or jail time may be involved if State laws are violated. Check your State laws before using this device.
