  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1 small onion
  • 8 ounces of sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons celery seed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

[edit] Steps

  1. Using a grater or knife, finely shred the cabbage and carrot.
  2. Chop the green pepper and onion.
  3. Combine cabbage, carrot, green pepper, and onion in a large bowl.
  4. In another bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Mix well.
  5. Pour dressing mixture over slaw, and chill until ready to serve, or serve immediately.

[edit] Tips

  • Be sure to cover before refrigerating.
  • The slaw will stay fresh for about a week. It only gets better as it sets!
  • Chill for at least 2 hours before serving for best flavor.
  • Add lemon juice and zest for a little tang, or try hot sauce or red pepper for a kick.

[edit] Warnings

  • Keep ingredients cold until ready for use.
  • As always, take care when grating or chopping, it's easier to be proud of your creation if you don't end up in the hospital because of it.
