How to Make Glow Jars
This is a manual on how to create glow jars. Glow Jars are jars containing water and highlighter fluid. They can be used to decorate a room. They look awesome under black lights.

- Cut open a highlighter and take out the highlighter cartridge.
- Put the highlighter ink cartridge in a jar (you only need one per jar).
- Fill the jar with water.
- Mix it around and let it sit for a day to achieve the best effects.
- Take out the highlighter cartridge and you should have a cool looking jar.

Instead of highlighter fluid, you can also try a bit of poster paint in fluorescent colors. With most brands, this will turn out fabulous. Just add enough paint to color the water, and mix well.
- To make it glow, you can use purpose made poster paint. Glow-In-The-Dark poster paint is readily available almost anywhere, and will make your jars glow in the dark for a quarter of an hour after turning out the lights.

- Make jars in different colors for cooler effects
- Put
it under black light and it looks like it's radioactive.

- Be careful of the highlighter fluid; do not drink the water and wash your hands after making the project
- Do not tip the highlighter fluid or paint down a sink or drain - pour it into a jar for garbage disposal or onto some ground in your garden that does not have any plants growing in it (for example, a pile of dirt). They may harm the water quality and aquatic life.
