Hardtack is basically bread that is hard because is doesn't have yeast. Back in the day, it was a popular meal for soldiers and sailors because it didn't grow mold and was easy to prepare.

- Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
- Mix all ingredients together in a bowl.
- Knead dough and roll out till its 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into 3x3 squares. Poke a 3x3 series of holes in the center, evenly spaced.
- Bake in preheated oven.
- Take out when they're a light golden brown.
- Let it cool for a while.
