How to Make Mane Detangler

Mane detangler can be used on horse's manes and tails to help stop them tangling, and help you to untangle them without breaking too much of the hair. Regular use can also help keep them clean.

[edit] Steps

  1. Mix regular baby oil gel and baby oil together. Make sure that you use more gel baby oil than regular baby oil.
  2. Dilute with 2 cups water.
  3. Put the mixture into an empty shampoo bottle and shake well before using. If you forget this step, you may end up with a very runny gel.
  4. Brush the mixture into your horse's mane and tail after a bath for a beautiful shine, or before you brush the tail.

[edit] Tips

  • Try just putting regular baby oil diluted with water in a trigger sprayer. This works well if your horse isn't spooked by sprays.
  • Use this mixture on your horse's face around the dark parts to make them look shiny.
  • You can also use it as a leave-in shampoo. Only use it on legs, face, mane, and tails. Keep away from eyes.

[edit] Warnings

  • Never use this on your horse's coat, especially around the saddle area, as it can make the coat oily and cause the saddle to slip around.
  • Be careful using oil on the skin, especially pink skin, as it can cause sunburn, even in winter.

[edit] Things You'll Need
