Have you ever wondered what it's like to be a Runescape millionaire? This guide will show you how to become that millionaire with that Green Mask or Blue Party Hat you've been dying for.
Simply read this guide to pick and choose the methods you find most appealing. Follow those methods to earn money in Runescape. This guide offers a large variety of methods for earning gold in RuneScape. As reflected in some methods below, you don't need to be a member to earn gold. However, to access the full range of features and money making methods, it is recommended that you become a member.
RuneScape's Grand Exchange, located west of the Varrock Palace, was first introduced in November of 2007. It is a place where players are able buy and sell with other RuneScape players, as well as access their bank. This includes players who announce offers, but are logged out of the game, and members and non-members on all worlds. To learn how to use the Grand Exchange interface, talk to the Grand Exchange Tutor.
Note: All quantitative references to gold, levels, and units are subject to change due to the nature of an online game. Please take this into account when following one of these methods.
[edit] Steps
Herbs (Members Only)
- Go to Edgeville bank then go right to the (!) sign.
- Climb down the trapdoor and keep going forward until you get to chaos druids.
- Kill the chaos druids and collect grimy herbs (Ranarrs are best). One full inventory is about 50k.
Planks (Nembers Only)
- Clear your inventory except for money and woodcutting axe.
- Go to GE and use shortcut out to the northwest
- Woodcut oak logs until you get your inventory full.
- Go to sawmill and then turn logs into planks.
- Go back to GE, sell on GE.
- Repeat over and over.
Chaos Runes
- First take off all armor and valuable stuff.
- Next go to the entrance of the wild in Varrock.
- Go to level 42 wild towards the west side of the wild.
- Find the moss giants around there.
- Pick up the chaos runes around them while going in a circle.
- Repeat process until satisfied with the amount of runes.
- Finally either walk to the Grand Exchange or teleport to Varrock.
- Have fun with the $$$$$$$$$$.
Grand Exchange Trees
- Go to the grand exchange.
- Buy an axe if you do not have one.
- Go to the South entrance of it.
- Chop wood and take it to the grand exchange.
- Then deposit it in the bank.
- Repeat Steps 4 and 5 several times.
- Then take the wood out of GE bank. And sell it at lowest gp amount.
- Do that a lot and get over 50k like me!
Law Rune Selling
- Get a lot of Law runes and sell them in one of the Falador banks for 1k each. People will really buy it, because they are to lazy to walk to Varrock. Stay in the bank and say "Selling laws - 1k each!!!" Law runes cost about 350 Coins in the Grand Exchange. With this method, you can make at least 1,000 Coins every time you make a sale!
Planks and Bones
Ever wondered do bones sell? Well the answer is yes. First obtain some trout. Then go to the wilderness level 21. Find a fenced area and pick up all the bones and planks you see. Then travel to the grand exchange. Planks sell for 199gp each and bones sell for 79gp each. If the bones don't get bought immediately don't worry. They WILL sell!
Pie Tips
- Get at least 4,000 Coins
- Go to the Gnome Copters and buy as many Pie tins there as possible.
- Go to the bank right beside it and deposit the Pie tins. Then keep repeating until you're out of Coins.
- When you have enough, sell them at the Grand Exchange or trade it in the streets to anyone who will pay a fair price for it.
Mining and Smithing Method
- Get your Magic level to 43.
- Get your Smithing level to at least 50.
- Get your Mining level to at least 55.
- Get the runes you need to use Blast Furnace. It should only take 2 or 3 slots in your inventory.
- Mine Mithril ore and Coal. You need 1 Mithril ore and 4 coal to make a Mithril bar, which you can smith.
- Using the coal and Mithril, use blast furnace on the ores. You should get a Mithril bar.
- When you run out of runes, get your hammer or buy one, and go to Varrock to smith it. Mithril stuff is hard to sell, so you have to train your mining and smithing level to 70. Then, people will start to want your smithed armor and weapons.
Tips
- Try not to sell the ores you have mined. If you want to do that, go to the mining section of the article and see what you can find there.
Cockroach Worker Method

- Travel to barbarian village, stop and then travel north, you will come to a building with a red mark (!) by it on the mini-map.

Go upstairs and speak to the professor, do what he says. Then go back downstairs and go to the broken jail and click remove poster.
- Travel past the muggers, cockroach drones (level 8) until you find the cockroach workers (level 56) but don't panic. They wont attack you, not even the cockroach soldiers (level 83) will harm you. if you are planning on attacking the soldiers, don't. They are both range and melee anyway.
- Kill the cockroach workers. The workers drop really good stuff. Remember to sell everything at the Grand Exchange.
- Note: You can only do this when the professor says you can!

How To Kill? The Beast is weak against Stab attacks and will sometimes spawn the Dark Core where it is. It is best to use range as its magic attacks do no more than 15-65, and it's melee doing as much as 51 damage. It's always best to be in a big group of 10+ highly skilled warriors.

New Item Investing
- Whenever a new Item comes out (Quest, new city, etc.) buy as many of the specific item ASAP after the release of the item.
-Say they release the item "Lampshade" for 10 gp starting price. -You buy 100,000 for 1 mil. -Over about a week or so the price raise (which it always does) to say 80 gp. -Selling 100,000 = 8,000,000
== MAKE 600K+ A WEEK! (Hard, Members Only) Okay, if you do this right, you can easily make 1m or more in a week. REQS: Kingdom of Misc/Royal Trouble High-ish CB Level [prefferably 80+] ; if not ATLEAST 65 WC, preff. 70+ 32+ Farming. Okay, now what you need to do Go to your kingdom, and deposit roughly 500k [or as much as you can] into the coiffers. Come back everyday, and chop a few logs to keep your rating at 100%. You should get back MINIMUM of 700k probably more from this. For ultimate money, put ALL your villagers on flax, and the rest on coal. After you do that, buy a good amount of SUPERCOMPOST&RANNAR SEEDS. Now, go to the catherby farming area, plant your rannar seed using super compost. Go to the farming area SE of Fally, and plant ur rannar seed again using super compost. Now, you can wait for them to grow. And while your doing that, for the high cb levels; either barrow, or kill Green Dragons. [Fastest $ is the dragons.] You get aout 3k-6k per dragon, roughly. Now, after a few inventories, go check on your herbs. And as for the kingdom, you only have to check once a day! With all of this, you should make a MINIMUM, of 600k a week! If you have quest. talk to me, jet7111
Impling Catching (members)
You must have at least 42 hunter and have done the lost city quest. First go to the grand exchange and buy about 1500 impling jars, or as many as you can. Go to Zanaris and enter Puro-Puro through the crop circle in the wheat field Catch essence implings or better and sell them all on the G.E and you should get a profit of 500k or more for all of them! It does take a while but stick with it to make big cash.(qwertyman119)

Aviansies method (Members Only)
- Get 70 ranged & 60 strength/agility
- Go to God Wars Dungeon and take a mith grapple and crossbow with mithril bolts
- Make sure you are wearing an Armadyl armor piece, pendant from the guardians in Temple of Ikov is cheapest
- Bring 100 Bones to Peaches tablets, Excalibur, 100 nature runes, 500 fire runes, and the aforementioned mith grapple (Weild Ava's accumulator!)
- Go into Armadyl's Eyrie, and find any aviansie. Kill it. Take the bones and any good loot. The bones will eventually replace your food slots, this is when you use one of the tablets to get peaches. This allows you to stay for long periods of time.
- The best loot from these is 4 noted adamantite bars in one drop. These can sell for up to 3k each! After a couple of hours you can pay off all your equipment and then some. Note: This is not the fastest way to make money in the game, but it does add some excitement to the moneymaking.
Banana Method (non-members)
- Go to Port Sarim. Make sure you have at least thirty coins with you.
- Talk to one of the seamen on the docks.
- Ask to go on a trip to Karamja and pay the seaman the thirty coins.
- Talk to Luthas on Karamja. He lives in the house next to the docks.
- Ask him for employment in the banana plantation.
- Fill at least three crates with bananas for him. (He pays you 30 coins per crate - three crates, that is 90 coins. You need 60 for the trip and you make 30 coins profit.)
- Travel on a ship back to Port Sarim.
Barrows Method (members-only)
- Get to level 85 or above.
- Read up on the Brothers:
- Melee Brothers:
- Dharok the Wretched
- Verac the Defiled
- Torag the Corrupted
- Guthan the Infested
- Magic:
- Ahrim the Blighted
- Ranged:
- Karil the Tainted
- Melee Brothers:
- Stock up on lobster, shark , pray potions, runes, and use lots of armour! Bring teleports for faster travel to the Barrows area, which is tucked away near Port Phasmatys, in Morytania.
- Find the barrows: follow a player or use a map.
- Go into one of the barrow mounds. You will fight some stuff and eventually come to a treasure chest guarded by one of the Brothers.
- Kill the brother!
- Loot the treasure chest. You will find some stuff worth a bit, and if you are lucky you will find Barrows armor. Barrows armor is armor that resembles that of the Brothers. There are 6 sets of Barrows armor, one set for each. You will not always get armor pieces but after many runs you will have a full set!
- Sell the set for a few sweet million (or individual pieces for a few hundred K). Alternatively, you could KEEP the set, show it off to your friends, and use the great armor to kill other money-making creatures (in this section!).
Big Bones Method 1
- Make sure you have the brass key that is found in the Edgeville Dungeon, in your Inventory.
- Open the door to get inside the building between Varrock and the river by the Barbarian Village (its a tiny little shack). Go down the ladder.
- Kill the Hill Giants (level 28), and take their bones(380gp-400gp), limpwurt root(700gp-800gp) roots and nature runes(250gp-260gp).
- Return to the bank to store your bones.
- Repeat the process. If you get 600 or more big bones you could get over 378k, plus the roots and runes, bringing the total to 378k!
a good weapon and high strength would be an advantage note: this may take a long time.
Big Bones Method 2
- Enter the dungeon through the trap door in Edgeville. Pick up the brass key on your way there.
- Follow through the dungeon, passing all the monsters, until you find the gate that blocks your way. Open the gate, run through the skeletons and hobgoblins, to the zombie room. The key is found IN the room.
- Go to the Hill Giant lair via a ladder beyond the Zombies. They are level 28, so if you're a lower level bring food. Also if you are a mage, or ranged, you can position yourself behind a stalagmite were they can't reach you.
- Kill the Hill Giants and take their bones and anything else you choose to keep.
- Go back to the Ladder, and climb up. Make your way to the Grand Exchange and bank. This works best for level 40 and above.
Blue Dragon Scale method, (Members Only)
- Get the following:
- dusty key
- 50+ combat
- anti-dragon shield
- (Optional) Lvl 25 Magic and Varrock Teleport Runes
- Head to Falador's west bank and equip your armor and anti-dragonfire shield. Take the dusty key and teleport runes/tab in your inventory.
- Climb over the broken wall west of the bank.
- Continue north-west until the dungeon symbol (!) appears on your minimap. Climb down the ladder.
- Continue down the hall. Stop at the gate with two suits of armor next to it, and a "Cauldron of Thunder", and enter.
- Go through the southern Gate. Keep heading east until you reach a two-way junction at the end of path. Don't go into the room of giant bats.
- Head south from this junction until you reach a room of magic axes. From there, continue south from the room until you reach a junction. Head west (If you can see hill giants you've gone the wrong way).
- Continue along the path until you reach the lesser demons. Use your Dusty Key on the only gate in the area.
- Pick up blue dragon scales. You will now see baby blue dragons and blue dragons. You don't need to fight them; your job is to get the scales that other players have left on the ground.
- Fill your inventory and teleport back to Falador. Bank the scales.
- Repeat this process until you have 1,000 dragon scales. Grind the 1,000 dragon scales into dust.
- Sell the dragon scale dust in the Grand Exchange. There's a lot of demand for them so you should be able to sell at a high price. Notes: Not recommended for anyone who feels uncomfortable running around the dragons. If you're really worried, consider taking an anti-fire potion to render the dragon's fire attacks harmless. Take a break and try something else once in a while.
Cape Method
- Go to Edgeville
- Take some money out of the bank.
- Buy blue capes off the NPC Richard (he has a bag of hay on his back) for 50gp each.
- Go to the bank at Edgeville and deposit them.
- Repeat the above three steps.
- Sell capes at Grand Exchange for 150gp minimum when you have a large number of them. This isn't a very good way to make money though. If you get 5 capes, that's only a 750gp profit.
Chocolate Dust Method
Buy chocolate bars at the grand exchange, then use a knife on them to turn them into chocolate dust. The dust sells for more than the bars cost. Beware, however, that you may occasionally cut yourself with the knife and lose a few hitpoints. The protect against melee prayer is ineffective against this. The only way to prevent this is by using a pestle and mortar (members only).
Combat Method: Fire Giants (members only)
- Get to level 65 Combat with appropriate armor and weapons.
- Get Fearless of Chaos Tunnels
- Get some Teleport Runes (In case of Portal Backfire. Read below.)
- Head to Edgeville with the supplies.
- Head North of Edgeville, to the mage named Zamorak (Monk of Saradomin). Beyond him, you should find a red (!) mark. Climb the rope down. You'll immediately find an immense number of Giant Rock Crabs.
- Head towards the North-West Portal. You should find yourself in a room of Fire Giants.
- Head towards the westward end of the room, so you can pick them off one by one rather than 2 at a time. Then, start slaying any you see. Note: If the portal takes you to another room (which uncommonly happens), you'll have to teleport out and start again...that is unless you can find your way back to that specific room. Don't worry, its not a bug. It's just part of how the Chaos Tunnels work.
- Teleport out (once you have all your loot), or simply take the way out the way you came.
- Sell whatever loot you want and be happy with your cash.
- You usually get about 200k-300k for every trip.
Combat Method: Wolf Bones (members only)
- Get a high enough combat to kill Level 26 to 78 wolves, as well as decent armor and weapons.
- Head to Barbarian Village.
- In the center, you shall find a hole.
- Go down.
- Go north, then go west at the first place you can.
- Kill the wolves until you have a full inventory of Wolf Bones. You may also kill wolves on white wolf mountain, and bank in Catherby.
- Bank in Edgeville.
- Repeat until you have enough.
- Sell on the G.E. for about 430gp
Cowhide Method
- Get the following:
- 10+ in Combat
- Appropriate armor and weapons
- Food
- Basic knowledge of Lumbridge and Al Kharid.
- Go to the cow pen in Lumbridge. They're located North East of Goblins.
- Kill the cows and pick up the cowhides that they drop.
- Repeat this until your inventory is full.
- Go to Lumbridge bank and put all of your cowhides in there.
- When you have decided enough is enough,go over to Al Kharid and tan the cowhides at the tanner. This increases the value of the cowhide by 40gp.
- Repeat steps 2-6.
- Sell the leather at the Grand Exchange, or to a player on the forums.
Tips
- Optional: Complete "Prince Ali Rescue" quest.
- This is a good way for poor people. If you're a low level who needs to train combat and needs money, this would probably be a good start. It is quicker to kill cows for hides in Falador and store the hides in the bank. This is better cause it`s closer to store the hides and there is less people there. If you want to cook food there is a fireplace in the house next to it. This Method for cowhide is better cause you can store more, quicker for more money.
- If you have a lot of time to spend, walk around the gate. Its a much longer way, but it is free.
Eye of Newt Method (non-members)
- You can be any level.
- You must have at least 3 coins.
- Go to the Draynor bank.
- Take out any amount of money, as long as it is divisible by 3.
- Head to the Port Sarim Magic Store and buy Eye of Newts from Betty. Each Eye of Newt costs 3gp.
- When your inventory is full, deposit the eyes at the bank in Draynor.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 if you have money left over.
- When all your money is spent, go to the Grand Exchange in Varrock and sell the all the Eye of Newt for the minimum price. They sell very quickly.
It`s a bit boring but it's a good way. Some times it takes a bit to sell.
Fishing: Lobsters Method 1
- Get the following:
- Lobster cage
- 60+ gp(depending on usage of steps 1-5)
- 40 Fishing (60+ Recommended for best results)
- Head to Port Sarim (west of Draynor and south of Falador) and buy your own food.
- Look for a Fishing store in the south-western Part of the town. From there, head East and look for a Sailor. Right click and use the pay button.
- Follow the path until you see an opening in a fence. Go through it and head North until you find a dock with fishing spots.
- Start fishing for Lobster. When you have a full inventory of lobster, head back to the ship and go to Draynor village and bank all lobsters there.
- Repeat steps 1-5 until you have as many lobster as you want.
- Sell the lobster when you're done fishing. If u really need the money don't cook the lobsters because they are worth less and you will burn some so thats even less money.
Fishing: Lobsters Method 2 (Members only)
- Get the following:
- Lobster Pot
- (Optional:) Level 68 fishing to get in the fishing guild,or 76 fishing to fish sharks.
- Head East of the Bank until you find fishing spots. Start fishing until you have a full inventory. When you're done simply bank and repeat.
Tips
- You can always fish at the fishing guild, which is West of Seers Village and North of East Ardougne. It's similar to Catherby fishing, but its less of a walk. Requires 68 Fishing to get in.
- You can substitute fishing lobster with sharks if you have the level (requires 76 fishing).
Fishing: Monkfish Method (Members)
- Get the following:
- Small Net
- Optional: 85 Fishing for best results
- Complete "Swan Song" quest.
- Head to the Piscatoris Fishing Colony.
- Start fishing for Monkfish. Bank whenever you have full inventory. Repeat until desired amount reached. Do not cook them unless you want to gain cooking xp and lose money.
- Sell the Monkfish in the GE or to players on the forums since you can get up to 460gp on each Monkfish, and they are sometimes easier to catch than lobsters at a high level, this is one of the best ways you can make money of of fishing in the entire GAME.
Flax/Bowstring Method (members only)
- Understand that this is method is good for spending a large amount of time in RuneScape. It's also a great way to level up your crafting level-which can be used at high levels to make even more money!
- Get the following 10+ in Crafting skill to spin bowstrings
- Go to Seers Village bank, and store your Backpack's contents there. Head south from the Bank, to the flax field.
- Pick an inventory of 28 flax.
- Go to the top floor of the building to the northwest of the field (just North of Church property) to spin the flax into bowstrings if you have 10 crafting level.
- Put the bowstrings in your bank in Seers Village.
- Repeat the process until you have a substantial amount of bowstrings.
Tips
- If you don't have level 10 crafting, you can do the following quests which reward crafting experience (m = members only):
- Sheep Shearer
- Goblin Diplomacy
- Dwarf Cannon (m)
- Murder Mystery (m)
- Elemental Workshop (m)
- Pick the flax and spin at the same time. It is a lot easier than going back and forth to and from the bank to the spinning wheel.
- It takes about 45 minutes - 1 Hour to pick 1k flax if you do nothing but pick flax and the connection of your internet is not flaky.
Other Method
- First, buy 2k of flax on the grand exchange, then go to Lumbridge and spin it all then resell on the G.E for profit.
Goat Horn Method (Members)
- Go to Nardah and kill goats (level 21) west of the bank. Goats drop horns 100% of the time.
- Bank these or use a pestle and mortar on them to turn them into horn dust.
- Sell horn dust on the grand exchange for around 800gp each.
- Optional: Turn them into goat horn dust to sell for 900gp (774gp The G.E. is droping the price)
- There is a Bank right near the Goats, really only about 15 steps*
Goblin Method
- Get to level 15-20, and purchase the best armor and weapon you can equip.
- Kill the Goblins in the old house next to Lumbridge.
- Only pick up bones. Once you have filled your inventory of corpses, take these to the bank.
- Repeat step 3 as many times as you wish.
- Once you are done, sell all of them at the Grand Exchange. Bones are around 100gp ea.
Tips
- Try not to bring food. If you truly need it, run to the chickens and get some raw chicken. Then cook it inside the house. No tinderbox or axe needed.
Dragons Bones (Members only)(Rangers only)
- Get the following:
- Any kind of axe.
- At least 2000 Gold.
- Must know the Brimhaven Dungeon.
- 70+ ranged

- Head to Tzhaar and make sure you have the above.
- Make your way to Brimhaven dungeon entrance, give the guy 875 G.P and enter the dungeon.
- Once you make your way to fire giants, go to the last vine.
- Switch run on, and run past Black Demons. The North chamber leads to Red dragons, East chamber leads to Bronze dragons, and South chamber leads to Iron/Steel dragons(recommended).
- If you go to the Iron/Steel chamber, drink your antifire potion. There are sure to be a lot of people there, so go to the East part of the chamber. There are usually any people in the iron dragons there. If you are looking for Steel dragons, head to the middle. Kill one, and pick up dragon bones. Today they were 1.6k each.
- If you go to the Bronze dragon chamber, make sure you have drunk a dose of antifire potion. Kill a dragon, and pick up the dragon bones. I am 85% sure that they are going to be 1.5K plus.
- Teleport out of the brimhaven dungeon and bank.
- Repeat the process. Each trip you will possibly make 30K+. It depends on how many dragon bones you get. If you collect 20, then that is 40K+. If you get the rare draconic visage drop, then teleport out of there, head to the Grand Exchange, and sell it. You are sure to make 20M+.
H.A.M. Caves Method (members only)
- Get the following:
- 17 in Mining
- 23 Agility
- 23 Thieving
- Ability to kill level 50s with help from an NPC.
- Beat The Lost Tribe and Death to the Dorgeshuun quests
- Go into the H.A.M. caves and pick the lock the trapdoor INSIDE the cave (it will be invisible if you haven't beaten the quest). You should find some H.A.M. guards. #Pickpocket the guards and obtain the keys. It's possible to obtain a clue scroll (lvl 1) while doing this.
- Open the Chest with the corresponding key. The bronze key you will have to go through a crevice in the south-west of the room, the silver you have to pick-lock the door in the north-west corner of the room, the iron is in the the north-east corner with the locked door, and the Steel is in the south-east or in the big northern room with chests. The chests give jewelry or coins.
- Sell to grum in Port Sarim once your inventory is full. The jewelry is gold-diamond and each run will give you about 15k-20k.
Steel Bars Method 2
Mine 1000 iron from a mine close to a bank (mining guild, dwarf mines for example. Bank all the ore. Go to the grand exchange and buy 2000 coal, which costs about 400,000gp (400K), don't worry, you will be making this back after. Go to a furnace close to a bank (Al-Kharid, ardounge for example) and smith all of your coal and iron together into steel bars, and you will have 1000 of them. Since 1000 steel bars are about 670,000gp (670K), you will have made a 270k profit. Repeat until satisfied. Enjoy!
Herb Method (members only)
- Go to Taverly Dungeon and go to the chaos druids(They are level 13).
- Kill them until you have a full inventory of herbs. Get herbs ranarr or higher.
- Sell your herbs at the Grand Exchange or save them for another time.
- Repeat the process. Bring teleport runes so you don't waste time walking back and forth.
Tips: I recommend being level 25+ to make the killing faster. If the world is too crowded change worlds.
High Alchemy Method
- Get the following:
- 55+ in Magic
- Nature rune
- Rune Medium Helms (the best things to get alch high). Buy them for 8k-11k from players and use High Alchemy on them for 11.52k!
- Alternatively, members may like to try fletching. Alching and fletching as a combination can be quite rewarding as you raise multiple skills relatively quickly. Fletching is one of the easiest skills to get to level 99.
- The necessary runes needed to perform the spell.
- Alchemize the item, rinse, and repeat!
- Get yew (u) bows for about 300 each
- Buy b strings at 200 each
- Buy natures at 220-260 each.
- Put the b strings on the (u) bows, then alch.
- Repeat with natures and a fire staff.
- Make more money by making your own bow strings, yew bows, and even nature runes. If you made everything you would get:
- Runecrafting xp
- Woodcutting xp
- Fletching xp

Honest Way 1 (members only)
- Get the following:
- 60+ level
- Appropriate armor (bronze or higher is best)
- Head down to the stronghold of security.
- Go to the second level.
- Find a room with flesh crawlers but few people.
- Begin to kill the flesh crawlers. After awhile, you'll notice that they are dropping tons of herbs, runes, ores and such. Pick up ALL iron ore, ALL fire runes, ALL nature runes and only the ranarrs, kwuarm, and all the other high ones. After you have over 2000 fires runes and 75 nature runes, you should have a full inventory of herbs.
- Sell all these things in the Grand Exchange! You should now have at least 34.3k. You can have more then 2000 fires and 75 natures you may also pickup a few dust runes on the way, there just estimating when you will have a full inventory.
- Using the Ring of Wealth also helps. It increases the chance of rare drops like ranarrs!
Honest Way 2
There is a really easy way to make money on RuneScape. It's to cut yews(60 woodcutting) lvl 300k xp for 60 wc. Also try cow hides they are 100gp each kill cows for money> sell cowhides at the Grand Exchange. The cowhide place near falador is best. Nobody goes there. You can store up in falador main bank and keep going back and forth. The Lumbridge cowhide place is crowded.
- Find Melzar's Maze on the world map.
- Go to the odd patch of beach sticking out from north of the Melzar's Maze.
- Kill the hobgoblins. The more north they are, the better.
- Pick up limpwurt roots. Some of them will leave these roots behind.
- Sell them for the lowest price at the Grand Exchange when you have about 1k of them. They sell fast and expensive!
- Repeat the process.
Tips
- If it is too crowded, change worlds.
- When there is a lot of people ask them what ones are the best.
- There is a cabbage garden nearby so visit it if you need quick, free food.
- A best weapon is a scimitar, because it has a good mix of power and speed.
- Cut yew: 60 woodcutting level 300k experience for 60 woodcutting.
- Also try cow hides as they sell for 100gp each at the Grand Exchange.
Warnings
- The hobgoblins are level 28-42 so if you aren't ready to fight them yet, bring food. You will also gain combat levels.
- All monsters attack until you are twice their level +1. It is safe at level 57.
Honest Way 3
- Kill cows in Lumbridge.
- Pick up cowhide and bones .
- bank at the gnome copters it is the best spot for members and free player alike.
Jungle Spiders (members only)
- Get 60+ in Combat before doing this. They are level 44.
- Go to Yanille either walking from Ardougne or going to Port Sarim paying from 1k to 2k to Port Kharzard and walking. Or you can go to Karamja from Port Sarim, go over the volcano to the members area and catch another ride north of the town to Ardougne
- Go to the small island east of Yanille.
- Kill a lot of them until you get at least 100 or so. The 100% drop is a Spider Carcass.
- Go to the Grand Exchange and sell them for 650-700(today its 894gp) each. Based on your combat level, this will earn you about 70k in about 30 minutes for combat levels 70+!
Magic Tree Cutting (Members Only)
- You need the following:
- 75 wc (Faster at 80+)
- Rune or Dragon woodcutting axe
- Go to the Sorcery tower and cut magic trees. There are 4 magic trees in front of the Sorcery Tower and 3 directly northwest of it. Magic tree logs give 250exp each.
- When your backpack is full, deposit your logs at the Seers Village, Ardougne, or Catherby bank.
- Repeat.
- Try to get 500 or 600 logs a day. In a week you will have over 4mil!
- Sell at the Grand Exchange.
you can also cut them behind the duel arena outside of the mage arena, bank in duel arena
or in the gnome stronghold and i think the bank is a bit closer to
Mining Method: Clay
- Get a bronze pick-axe or better. Receive one from the Mining Tutor (south of Lumbridge), or from up top of the Lummy Castle entrance.
- Go to Varrock.
- Go to the West Varrock Mines.
- Mine a lot of clay
- Get a bucket or jug (can be bought, or the bucket can be found in the Lumbridge kitchen). The grand exchange in Varrock is the best place because there is a fountain really close to the east and you can bank or sell it fast.
- Fill it up with water from various fountains or wells (marked with a water droplet).
- Stay by the well and use it on the clay to make soft clay.
- Put the clay in the bank, and repeat until you have quite a bit.
- Go to the forums and look under construction.
- Add the person to your friends list, and send them a message. Soft clay sells for about 200gp each, so this method can make lots of cash easy(if u sell them on the grand exchange you can get 160-180gp).
You can also go to the mining area in Varrock and mine clay and then go to bank and when you have 10,000 clay. Sell it in the Grand Exchange and you'll get one million gp.(It sells very quickly).
Alternatively, you can use a bracelet of clay to speed up the process as the bracelet allows you to mine wet clay instead of the normal hard clay. However, it will only last for 28 clay.
Mining Method: Coal 1

- Go to the south of Lumbridge swamps.
- Go west until you see the mining pit.

Mining Method: Coal 2
- Get 35+ in Mining and a good pick axe.
- Go to Falador, then to the larger bank.
- Around the bank there is a fountain, followed by a few buildings and guards around it. If it is a popular world, you might see a few players with pickaxes walking.
- Follow one of them, and they might lead to a small building with a wide staircase.
- Go down the staircase, but be careful, there are scorpions (level 14) and king scorpions (level 32) that might attack you. There should be 3 coal rocks there in front of you. (There are more rocks containing coal in the same mine)
- Search for more rocks containing coal if there are people mining there. If not, just switch worlds. Another alternate place to mine is on the west side of Varrock by the hill giants. It would probably be wise to have at least a level 51 account so you are not attacked by the level 25 skeletons. Mining coal at night is the best time to mine coal because there is not as many people on then. You can also mine in the Mining Guild if you are above level 60. The Falador Bank is pretty close to this place. It's the fastest way to mine coal for money.
- Sell the coal for 150-200gp each and you'll be rich.
Mining Method: Coal 3 (members only)
- Go to Ardougne with the best Pick axe you have.
- There's a mine to the east of the city gate, it is normally empty and has lots of coal rocks.
- Fill up your inventory there, there should be no competition so you should get them quite fast.
- Bank them in Ardougne east bank, this is only about 25 seconds walk away. If your making cannonballs there is a furnace close to Ardougne west bank. There are also iron ore spots there so you can make steel easily from that city.

- Head east of the entrance to get to the mine.

Mining Method: Iron Ore 3
- Get the following:
- Rune Pickaxe
- 41+ in Mining
- Optional:40 Combat
- Head to Falador and go to the West bank. You can also go over to Varrock, where there are 2 mines there for your selection(You can find them South of Varrock on the World Map).
- Go inside the dwarven mines and mine the iron over there. The Mine is sometimes over-crowded so switch worlds if so.
- Go back to the Falador bank once you get a full inventory of iron. Deposit your iron ores.
- Repeat the process.
- Sell them for 75gp each once you have about 100-1000 or more iron ores. You may need roughly 100 to sell for that much, unless you're selling in the Grand Exchange.
Mining Method: Rune Essence 1
- Complete Rune Mysteries quest.
- Go to Varrock, and get to the East Bank. Travel south of it, and you will see two signs. One of them is a ball of fire, the other a green arrow.
- Go inside the building with the two signs. You will see a man named Aubury. Right click Aubury and click "Teleport Aubury". He'll say "Seventior disthine molenko!" and teleport you to the Essence mine.
- Click on the Rune Essence rock and click "Mine Rune Essence". (you may sometimes spawn in the middle of the mine - just go to any corner and you'll see a big rock.)
- Wait until your inventory is full of Rune Essence.
- Find the portal and teleport out.
- Walk back to the East Bank and do one of the two options:
- Put it in the bank, select "Withdraw as Note" and take it out. Mention that you are selling rune essence. If you use chat effects, for example, "wave:" and "red:", people would notice your offer easily. (It is recommended to have a lot of the Essence. Also, try to ask for a little higher than what the buyer offers. Stay around 35gp per Essence.)
- Put it in the bank, and repeat the process.
- Mine Pure Essence if you are a member and have 30+ in Mining. Pure Essence is worth more, as it can make any type of rune. As of 19 April 2008, pure essence are worth about 150gp each. Normal Rune Essence (mined on a nonmember server) only sells for 45 gp each.
Mining Method: Rune Essence 2
- Get a Pick Axe.
- Complete the Rune Mysteries quest; start it by talking to the Duke on the second level of Lumbridge Castle.
- Travel to Varrock and find the rune shop (south of the East Varrock Bank).
- Get Aubrey to teleport you to the Rune Essence.
- Mine essence until you have a full inventory. Mining essence is tedious and can be boring. Try setting a goal for yourself, such as getting 500 essence stored up before going to do something else.
- Teleport back to Varrock using the portal, and deposit your inventory in the bank.
- Repeat this process until you have a lot of rune essence - 1,000 or more is ideal. The higher your mining level and the better your pick axe, the faster you can get essence. If you have level 60 mining and use a rune pick axe, you can mine a full inventory in about 40 seconds.
- Sell the rune essence at the Grand Exchange (north of Varrock West Bank).
Rune-Running Method: Air
- The Rune Mysteries Quest is not needed.
- Get 28 regular essence and an air tiara.
- Wear an air tiara.
- Go to World 16 (a free player's world)

- Enter the Ruins, and req assistance to any crafter saying anything like "[their name] - 7-9x".
- Craft the air runes, verifying you received what they said you would, and leave the Air Altar.
- Go north, inside the Falador gates, and follow the path to the first bank you see (also called the East Falador Bank).
- Withdraw out again 28 rune essence in the unnoted form.
- Go south to the Air Alter again, and repeat as desired.
- Sell the Air Runes in the Grand Exchange or to a player on the forums.
-
- Update** With G.E now any rune running methods don't work that well!
Rune-Running Method: Law (members only)
- Get the Runecrafting skill. This method will earn you money and a lot of experience.
- Get pure rune essence.
- Go to Falador's east bank.
- Remove all of your armor and weapons, then put them in the bank.
- Withdraw 27 pure essence. (MAKE SURE IT'S PURE)
- Go to the monks in Port Sarim and take the boat to Entrana. It's free but you're not allowed to take weapons or armor. While there, world hop to 66; it's the Law running world.
- Trade people who are saying "open".
- Put up your 27 pure essence. They SHOULD put up 27 noted pure essence and 27 law runes. Although often it is just 12 to 17. If they don't, just decline and trade someone else.
- Accept, and leave Entrana.
- Walk to Draynor or Falador Bank, from Port Sarim. You can also visit the Void Knights Outpost bank, which can be quicker.
- Un-note the essence and deposit the law runes.
- Repeat this process until you have the desired amount of law runes, then sell them at Draynor Bank; Void Knights Outpost doesn't really sell.
- Sell them. When you do, they sell for around 300-350gp each. Get about 5000 law runes and sell them in bulk, you get more cash! You can make 1,400,000gp (that's about 1.4mil!)
These are the things you'll need:
- Get the Lumbridge/Draynor achievement diary finished to use cabbage-port.
- Get as many Pure Essence as you want *to make it easy make it a multiple of 25*
- Buy as many Falador teleports as you need to make the amount of trips you will need.
Now lets get started!
- Get your law tiara/tally, fally teleports and explorers ring 3, and 25 pure ess.
- Go to Etrania and make your laws.
- (Remember, do not bring any weapons or armor because you cant have it at Etrania.)
- Teleport to Falador and then to the bank.
- Cabbage-port to the cabbage field above Port Sarim.
- Rinse and repeat!
Tips
- There are other worlds than just world 66. If they're stuck with the trade limit, try another Law running world if it's empty.
- There is a solution to this in many ways: Complete the Troll Stronghold quest to obtain a Law Talisman and the ability to craft Law Runes. Obtain the desired amount of essence you want, head to Entrana any way you choose (with talisman in inventory if not equipped a Law Tiara) and enter the Altar. Request Assistance from anyone inside if your own RuneCrafting level is not high enough. Rinse and Repeat.
- Another way is to use the Zamorak Mage after completing the Mini-Quest (about 10 mins.) He will grant you access to the Abyssal Space, a dangerous place that give you access to every available rune Altar in RuneScape (except Soul, use the ZMI altar for that). More info on this will be released.

Steel Method (members)
- Start out with enough money to buy lots of coal and iron ore.
- Complete the Quest called "Ghost Ahoy".

- Start by small amounts so you can see the progress.
Tar Method (members only)
- Teleport to Lumbridge.
- Head south to Lumbridge swamp.
- Get 100 swamp tar items.
- Sell at the Grand Exchange for about 18.8k
(Swamp Tar can be stackable so don't worry about banking)
The Grand Exchange
- Use the charts provided by RuneScape, similar to stock charts to find an item to buy. If you are not sure then start with highly traded items like Maple logs.
- Buy items at a bargain, then sell the next day for a slightly higher price. You can set up your trades just before you logoff and it should only take 10-15 minutes. There are plenty of videos on Youtube etc on how to make money by trading glories, iron ore etc.
Tips
Typical prices for maples might be buy at 41, sell at 43. I know it only seems a small amount but it can add up if you trade every day. Trading rune scimitars can make you about 700GP each. They are very popular and trade easily. If you have over 1m buy black mask for lowest price and sell in grand exchange for highest.
Clay Method
Right outside of Varrock there is a mining ground. Purchase a pickaxe and walk over the the spot. Then mine clay only, until you have about 15-20 pieces. Then find or purchases a bucket. Go to the Varrock fountain in the town square. Fill you bucket with water. Then click on the bucket then the clay. The clay with turn to soft clay. Continue until all of your clay is soft. Finally, sell it at the Grand Exchange for 150gp each!
Thieving Method (members only)
This is a members only skill but the best way to earn money with thieving is well lvl 5 you can steal from CAKE STALL. Go to the center of roughen and steal from the cake stall. When you have a full inventory of cakes, take them to the bank then go back and start again. When you have 100 cakes from lv 15 thieving, you will have lv 18. Then you sell 100 cakes for around like 20k. You continue, then you will be rich.
Thieving Method #2 (members only)
Requirements:
- Thieving skill level 15.
- Go to Ardougne
- Empty your inventory in bank
- Steal from cake stall
- Steal until inventory is full
- Repeat steps 2-4 until you have 100
- Go to G.E in Varrock (or general store)
- Sell merchandise
- Amount of money can vary
- Repeat if desired for more money
Note 1: At first, he says you can make about 72k w/ 100 cakes. I'm assuming this happened before G.E? As you know, the average price for each item can vary in RuneScape, with all the commotion of rising and falling prices.
Note 2: In order to do this method, you MUST be a member. It is a member skill -_-
Note 3: Any false information is NOT my fault. I simply clarified and re-wrote the words that the original writer had.

- Enter the volcano and into the cave that leads to the Tzhaar City

- All Uncut Gems
- TzHaar-Mej (Lvl 103)

- Enter through the cave to your right.
- Equip your bow and range armour.

- take the tokkul. toktz-ket-xil (shield) ranges 330-360k, toktz-ket-om (maul) is around 150-170k
Unicorn Horn Method 1 (members only)
- Go to a non busy server.
- Kill unicorns in Camelot or Unicorns in the Wildy.
Tips
- Although collecting them is easy, it's very time consuming-so it's not a very good money maker.
- If you are doing the Wildy method, watch out for Revenants. They can kill you easily with their freezing darts.
- It's best if you recharge your prayer before going into the Wilderness.
Unicorn Horn Method 2 (members only)
- Complete the Tower of Life quest.
- Buy roughly 200 cowhides. They are fairly cheap, approximately 100 coins.
- Acquire an inventory/bank of at least 14 cowhides and 1 unicorn horn.
- Visit the Tower of Life.
- Teleport to castle wars with a dueling ring.
- Run east to Yanille, and the north of the town once you've passed through it (east to west).
- Continue North, and there will be a bank nearby in west Ardy.

- Go into the basement and head towards the North East corner of the large basement area.
- Use "cowhide" and one "unicorn horn" with the fountain-like structure labeled "Symbol of Life".
- Right click on symbol of life, and select "Activate" with the help of Homunculus. A level 25 "unicow" will be created.
- Kill the "unicow", and a total of 2-4 unicorn horns will be dropped.
- Repeat the process until you have used up all of your cowhides (cow hides wont be replaced when the "unicow" dies).
- Take your full (or nearly full) inventory of unicorn horns to the bank. To do this, hug the coast and run north into east Ardy.
- Sell each horn for approximately 850 in the Grand Exchange.
Unicorn Horn Method 2 (Members)
- Buy around 10 or how ever game necklaces many it depends on how much money u want to make.
- Then teleport to bounty hunter and go south-west and kill the black unicorns.
- Then when u do a load walk back or teleport back to bounty hunter.
- Use a pestle and mortar on them.
- Sell them at the grand exchange for around 935gp each
Equa Leaves (Members Only)
- Go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold and buy a large number of equa leaves for 2gp each
- Go to the grand exchange and sell for about 50 each
- Note: this way might not always work but it often does because people are too lazy to go to the Tree Gnome Stronghold just to get Equa leaves
So if you buy 500 Equa leaves for 2 gp each and sill in G.E for about 50 each that's 23k profit!
Woodcutting
- Get the following:
- 60+ in Woodcutting (that is the level you need to cut yews)
- Rune Axe. They are sold at the grand exchange for about 9k. This is needed to cut at a good pace.
- Go to Edgeville and cut and bank.
- Sell logs at the grand exchange when you have about 200 of them. They go for about 415 gp a log.
(200 yew logs are about 83,00gp) or cut magic logs at level 75+ for about 1k each
Willow Cutting Method
- Get your woodcutting level to 30+.
- Go behind the Draynor Village Bank and start cutting willow trees.
- Get a full inventory and store the logs in the bank.
- Repeat the process over and over until you have about 10k willow logs.
- Sell the logs at the Grand Exchange and you will get about 190k!!
- Get 10k willow logs every day for a week and that would equal up to 1,330,000gp.
Tips
- Many users cut this log for Firemaking.
- Willows can be hard to sell.
- This is the best way to make your firemaking skills go up and then sell the rest! -jason
-!Warning!-
This method is crazy as not everyone (correction: nobody) can chop 10000 freaking willows in a day for 7 days. Only attempt to do so if you have no regard for your health.

Wine Of Zamorak
- Go to falador and before entering the gate go far right go really far past doric's house all the way until you see an altar with monks wearing red robes.

- Inside the place you see a jug of wine but its no ordinary jug of wine, its zamorak wine! (members use this to make potions.) If you wanna take it free-hand you have to kill all the monks and grab the wine. This will make u lose hp and other skills though but you get it back later. Its better to mage than take it free-hand.

Go into the Warrior's Guild and withdraw your money from the bank. Then go to the food store right next to it and buy 27 plain pizza's. Bank and repeat until you have spent all your money. Then go to the grand exchange and sell them (I recommend putting them at minimum because thats where most people buy them). So to recap, you bought the pizza's for 200gp, and sold for about 270gp. [edit] Tips
- Use the grand exchange for quick trading.
- Make sure the items you are selling are noted. If you don't other players won't have enough room. Also, Always have a lot of the items you are selling. If not, the buyer may get annoyed and decline the trade. If you sell in bulk, adjust the price accordingly (ie: add 25gp).
- Check the second trade screen for scammers/noobs. Make sure they don't have complicated names, because if they do they might be a scammer. Example: Someone with the name '47838iuei2' is probably a scammer. If an offer is too good to be true, its usually is. If you do get scammed, be sure to report the scammer using 'report abuse'. Recently there was an update when in trading the item/money traded must have a value of 3k higher or lower of the original price to trade.
- With the new trade update introduced in on 2nd January, Merchanting has become increasingly difficult. On the rare occasion that Jagex releases a new item, try to buy it immediately from The Grand Exchange. As the days go by, there will be a higher and higher demand for that item causing the price to go up. When you think that item has reached its price peak, you can return to The Grand Exchange store page on the RuneScape home page and sell that item again.
- Rune running is more or less defunct, due to the new balanced-trade rules. While some rune-running still goes on, one won't always find a crafter, and runners are limited to how many runs they can make in a given time and how much they can profit from each run.
- To be quicker for law running, look for people dressed in red zamorak robes and trade them. Also note: You can stll law run but its harder, because of an update which does not allow unbalanced trades. However you can do more quests to get a higher trade limit. I have 110 QPS so I have a limit of 12k
- Go to the law altar to request assistance, then craft the law runes and sell them.
- You could get a law talisman/tiara from the Troll Stronghold quest and get inside the altar, you then get traded immediately. Make sure you don't bring Cats into the altar, the Law Running company doesn't like that.
- The Stronghold of Security can only be done once per account - you get 10k to start you off. Please read the How to Win the Stronghold of Security on Runescape article.
- Buy oak logs and turn them into planks and then sell them. Members need this so bad so you can get fast cash and get rich quick!
[edit] Warnings
- While fishing, be wary about random events like river trolls and whirlpools. And sometimes black fish can chuck your fishing stuff away. So be wary of this.
- When trying the Barrows method, be warned! A full set of Barrows armor is hard to get and there is a high risk of dying! Also, Barrows armor is high-maintenance, so if you choose to keep it, be warned! It will cost you a few hundred K to fix every so often!
- Remember, you do not have to do every single one. Looks over them all and choose the ones you think is best for your time. Its not good to play this game all day since its just virtually money!
