How to Make a Chevron Friendship Bracelet
Today I am going to show you guys how to make the chevron friendship bracelet.Check out my youtube video below to see it step by step.
[edit] Steps
- Cut the embroidery floss or craft thread about 60-65 inches for each color depending on your wrist size. You need at least three strands of string.
- Fold all your strands in half and tie an overhand knot near the top of the fold to make a loop about 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
- Clip it to your clipboard, safety pin it to your pants or a pillow, or tape it to your work surface. You can also use a binder clip with a binder or book.
- Arrange the strands in a mirror-image pattern so the two outside strands are the same color and so on going inwards.Pretend there is an imaginary line in the middle.
- Tie a forward knot onto all of the strands in the left half until you get to the middle.A forward knot is looping the string over and under another string and pulling it through taut.Repeat to make one forward knot.
- Tie a backward knot onto all of the strands in the right half until you get to the middle.A backward knot is the same as the forward knot except that it is in reverse direction.
- Tie a forward or backward knot(doesn't matter)with the two middle strands to connect the two sides.
- Repeat again and again until your bracelet is as long as you like.
- Tie an overhand knot at the ends of your bracelet to secure it.
- Braid the ends and tie an overhand knot to finish off your bracelet if you have six strands.Trim off excess string. If you used four or five strands, just leave it hanging free. You can also add beads to the ends for a decorative touch.
