How to Read Your wikiHow Fan Mail

Have you ever logged in to find that you have new fan mail? Fan mail is created when a wikiHow reader "Thanks the Authors." Receiving fan mail means that you have contributed, or written, an article that people enjoy and find useful.

  1. Log into your wikiHow account.
  2. Along the right side of your screen you will notice a list of links including:
    • Featured Articles
    • Navigation
    • Editing Tools
    • My Pages
  3. Scroll down to the My Pages section.
  4. Select the My Fan Mail button.

  • When you receive new fan mail a link will show up, after logging into your wikiHow account, telling you that you have new fan mail.


[edit] Warnings

  • Some people use the Thank the Authors feature to spam authors. If you receive spam fan mail you can leave this tag on the user's talk page: {{warning}}.
  • Your My Fan Mail button may not appear if you have personalized your My Pages links.
  • If you have turned off the notification of new fan mail, then you will not receive a message saying that you have new fan mail. You can change whether you receive a message saying that you have fan mail or not in your My Preferences part of My Pages.
