How to Revert Vandalism in wikiHow
While most wikiHow articles improve with each contributor, occasionally an article may be altered in a destructive manner due to vandalism. Follow this procedure to revert to one of the previous versions of an article:
[edit] Steps
- Click on the History tab, at the top of an article, to access all previous versions.

- Search for the most current and well-written version. In this example, the chosen version was written by Jack Herrick.

- Click on the date, to the left of the author's name, to view your chosen version.
- Click on the Edit tab at the top of the article.
- Add any vital information from any other versions that are about to be omitted.
- Click on Preview, at the bottom of the article, to review each succeeding version of your article. Submit only the final draft of your work. Any text that is red in color indicates an error that is in need of correction.
- Write a note in the Edit Summary at the bottom of the article. Clarify your intention with a phrase, such as "reverted to pre-vandalized version."
- Click on Save Page, at the bottom of the article, to save your changes.
[edit] Tips
- Registered Users will also see a Rollback Feature on the History Page of each article. Click on [rollback] to revert to the most previous version of the article.
- Always make use of this procedure with good intention.
- If involved in an Edit War with another user, use the article's Discussion Page or your User Talk Page to reach civil consensus.
- Seek further arbitration with uninvolved or trusted wikiHow community members.
- If an incident needs immediate or further attention, leave a note with the Administrator Notice Board.
