Chris,

I hope you accept this well overdue Barnstar, I would have placed in on your author page, but knew you could integrate the code better than I.  :)

Congrats -- template work is just the kind of behind-the-scenes stuff that most of us remain clueless about until some excellent editor like you gets an award for the work!

You contribute to the forums as much as anyone, at least lately.

Hey! I'm SO sorry about the duplicate tag; the discussion had seen everyone unanimously agreed to get rid of it. It was suggested in the thread that we NFD the tag itself. Nobody objected to that course of action, and I made a post letting everyone know when I did it. It's unfortunate that it had technical consequences that were beyond my prediction, and that nobody who had that awareness saw that thread and contributed their advice, but please don't think I did it without community input. I'm not sure there's any way I could've foreseen the mess it'd create except by learning from a mistake. That being said, there's no need to reiterate that I should leave it alone. I understand that you're annoyed by the situation, but a slap-on-the-wrist tone of communication won't do much good, especially when I made a good faith effort to execute a community decision. Anyway, thanks for letting me know. -K.

Krystle said:
Just so you know, I've posted again to the thread about the duplicate tag. Since my judgment in this matter is in question, you're welcomed pick up where I left off and arbitrate and conclude the discussion. Thanks!

Sondra C said:
Congratulations on receiving the Barnstar. With all the great work you contribute, this is long overdue.

Chris, sounds good. I'd be happy to help with that. I am a software engineer and I work on web apps already, so I should hopefully be able to ramp up without too much hassle. We're stuck as a Micro$oft-based operation, with .NET, IIS, MS-SQL, etc., but I do play around a little with the open-source side of the world that uses LAMP. I know all of these pretty well, except may be Apache.

Does IRC work well for you, or did you have something else in mind? Thanks! Image:blue_smile.gif

Cipher_nemo said:
Sure, I can hop on tonight, but 8pm would be a better time for me if that's fine with you? Let me know.

Cipher_nemo said:
Ack, I'm an idiot. Image:blue_wink.gif I re-read your post and you mentioned PST. I'm in EST, so the 7pm PST (10pm EST) works fine for me. Sorry about that Chris. I lived in California for 9 years, so sometimes when I see PST, I automatically correlate that to my time, lol.

Not sure if I will be able to be online tomorrow from the time frame you gave. We'll have to figure something out. =)

Sondra C said:

hey, thanks for finding a fix lowering the case for articles written in all caps.

However, I would like to see something to lower the case, for just all caps words, or sentences.

Is this a possiblity....it would work like the change case in microsoft works..

this would be so great in editing, and stop from having to retype any all CAPS....

I forgot what forum you originally posted this on, so writing you personally instead.

This is really something needed in editing.

Chris, doesn't it seem a bit superfluous to include that Warning message in the FA? That wasn't vandalism that I made—how logical is it to include a warning about bomb attacks? I think you'd agree with me that that's not an "England exclusive" subject.

Cipher_nemo said:

Hey Chris, is there any variable to get RC patrolling information, specifically the ID of the next RC in a user's patrol block? I've been able to make my own 'mark as patrolled' and 'skip' links with {{REVISIONID}} and {{PAGENAMEE}}, but not supplying the next RC ID will bring users to an RC Victory page.

So far, two other wikiHow users liked my author page layout enough to use them as their own. I've tried to put in as many links as possible to give visitors of those pages some of the common wikiHow links, but I'm not sure how to get around this patrol problem with custom links.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time! Image:blue_smile.gif

Sondra C said:

Please check the how to Be forum once again. We might have another two changes to the policy, if it is agreed upon.

This way, you can update all at the same time.

Thank you for working on this so quickly...and btw I have been using the three letter nfd commands, and it makes tagging so very easy..

thanks!

Axiom, what special script do you or Travis have to automatically add wikiHow admins to the admin list at the top of the wikiHow:Administrators page when a new administrator adds their {{api}} box? It doesn't work alone on a new page (creating a new page with a different name), and I can't find any template utilized here that makes this happen.

Also, on the dev server, can you make me an admin there? I can't test and edit admin-only pages on that one. Thanks!

Thanks for your message regarding the major edits I made to "How to Defend or Explain Theism". When I read the writer's guide, it said major edits were allowed. I didn't know the limit to that. Since the entire article was replaced, I thought the discussion of the old article might confuse a new reader that had found the new article since none of the discussion was about the now current article. I think it would be good to somehow show those remarks as being to a prior version of the article. Just a recommendation.

Oh, and I found your message cause on the discussion page, there is a comment that includes a link to how science leads to God. Did you leave this? Do you know what I'm supposed to do with it, since there's no article there? Is it a suggestion? I'm new to all of this...obviously.

Thanks again
