We'd have to ask Travis to be certain, but I'm pretty sure that we haven't enabled the functionality necessary to make a bot using mediawiki's API's.. that doesn't mean we couldn't do it with a screen-scraper though.. however, that is sort of like reinventing the wheel.

After reevaluating my priorities, I've decided that I'm taking an indefinite wikiVacation. This means that I'm going to block myself and not visit wikiHow again until it can fit comfortably within my schedule. This also means that either you'll have to go down to one SA a week, or you'll have to recruit a new Saturday SA manager. As you are the only one other than myself who is "trained" at doing the SA, I'm leaving that job up to you.

Just to let you know, this is a big step for me. I have never taken a vacation from wikiHow for longer than a week, and I didn't have much of a choice in the matter. I've never stayed away for longer than a week...

But, my education, mental and physical health, and continued participation in extracurriculars comes before wikiHow.

I'll be leaving a message on the forum as well as on my user page.

Just thought I'd let you know since it directly affects an activity you do on wikiHow.

I'll still occasionally be on my email; maybe we'll chat one day! :)

1. Go to preferences and make sure it is on user profile
2. Right under the nickname there should be a raw signatures check box, make sure that is unchecked.
3. Save your page!
4. Sign your siggy with ~~~~

I was wondering - can we update the spotlight article summary on the home page to reflect the intro that's in the actual article? The current version seems to lose the meaning of Kung Fu tea and has some grammatical errors. If the existing intro is too long for the home page, how about this...?

Normally I would, but here I didn't for two reasons - (1) I know that there's a team (you and Eric) who specifically focus on spotlight articles; didn't know if it's anything like the RSS feed, where messing with it can do some real damage. And (2) I couldn't find the summary on the main page edit box. Is it there and I missed it? Or perhaps it's a template? I didn't think of that at the time...! Anyway, thanks for the help. Next time I'll be bolder. =)

I replaced the broken link in that article with a valid one. The article is accurate to some extent, but the process shown there is outdated and won't work with everyone's PC. It is essentially a hack that allows people to use UX themes on Windows without installing a third-party software that costs money.

I posted right above yours on the new templates, but you missed seeing it.

Thanks for your message about preserving the tin of paint, however I think you are confusing humour for sarcasm, which in my view is a shame. As a professional in the education system one of the ways of making things understandable is to use humour and not make technical manuals too, dare I say, rigid. It's almost sad returning after so long a break; my instinct tells me to come back for good, but my mind is telling me that would be an academically bad idea.

Every once in a while, while my mind is wandering in one of the more boring classes, I think of wikiHow and what I wish I could return to. I know that even if I returned as a fully fledged administrator, contributing daily (like in the beginning), it wouldn't be the same. Ah...

Well, I hope things continue to go well here for you and everyone else. Of everyone, I considered you one of my good friends.

Hi. I'm new to wikiHow, and I can't remember everything I read. I took a picture from Yahoo! Search and put it in one of my articles. Then I got a message, saying that I have to give the URL where I got the picture. I sent the reply. Is it ok? And by taking the picture, did I break any rule of either wikiHow or Yahoo!?

I was wondering if you could name the wikis, for example: wikihow, wikipedia, ect.
