How to Vote for wikiHow's Best Subcategory
wikiHow has many categories and many subcategories. But which ones are worthy of site-wide acclaim? Some categories are full of tight articles, rounding out the subject well. Others may have some joke articles or duplicates, or articles which have copyediting errors. You can check around and find some good subcategories and recommend them to the rest of the community. At the very least, this will make for some enjoyable reading.
[edit] Steps
- Today is the last day to vote! Vote right here!.
- Check the wikiHow category list by clicking the breadcrumbs at the top any page or click on this categories link.
- Click on a category such as Travel or Relationships or Family Life or Communications.
- Click through any of these or other categories to find a subcategory, or click further down to find a deeper subcategory. You might choose Cancer, Chess, Teaching or any of a hundreds of other subcategories.
- Look at the articles in the list and read them, noticing if the articles are in the best shape they can possibly be. If you see some copyediting problems, you may wish to fix these up. If you find some articles not written in accordance with the Writer's Guide, you can either tag them for formatting or fix them up yourself.
- Check the titles. Does each title in the subcategory represent the subject matter well? If not, suggest a title change.
- Recommend any well-formed subcategories for recognition in the Collaboration Corner forum.
[edit] Tips
- Do feel free to fix up anything in the subcategory which needs helping.
- Notice that some subcategories have Articles That Require Further Editing listed at the bottom, and some have Featured Articles In This Category appearing at the top.
- If your favorite subcategory has no articles which have yet been featured, perhaps you would like to nominate one of the better articles in the subcategory for this honor.
