wikiHow:New Article Boosters

New Article Boosters are users within the wikiHow community who volunteer to help bring all new articles up to wikiHow standards. This involves quite a bit of time for each new article. Our main goals are:

1. Improving each new page that arrives at wikiHow.
2. Encouraging authors who produce new articles at wikiHow.

Because of the complex formatting issues involved, each NAB team member must have a thorough understanding of the writing processes involved and the applicable wikiHow policies. A typical "boost" often involves things such as fixing common formatting errors, beginning instructions with active verbs where appropriate, correcting spelling and punctuation errors, checking for duplicates and merging a new article with an existing one if the article is not considered to be distinctive enough in its own right. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust spelling or punctuation in the article title as well. After we've cleaned up the new article, we leave an encouraging note on the author's talk page, thanking them for their contribution and offering our help with future articles if needed. We also acknowledge that regular authors need encouragement from time to time as well, so we leave them encouraging messages as well.

If you are interested in becoming a New Article Booster, you can read How to Become a New Article Booster on wikiHow and How to Do New Article Boost to get a good overview, a link to the qualification test and some good tips.

You can read about members of this team below. The boosters have been put into an order close to their NAB 'time'.

I patrol recent changes all hours (and I do mean all hours!) I have recently started with NAB and my strength is proofreading, so if you need something proofed, I'm your girl! I am also good for tedious (and otherwise) projects and like to keep busy.
Author Summary: I am a veteran of the U.S. Army and the mother of three children (all adults, except for Troy who is deceased.) I work for the Department of Veterans Affairs and I find that I love my job. I like the idea that I am helping other veterans without having 'face time'. The idea of that just flummoxes me. I look forward to learning more and more about wikiHow.
